DarkJedi: I think you're making too big a leap that an excellent graphics artist can run a successful affiliate program. Just because you know how to do graphics doesn't mean you know how to: program, drive traffic, manage employees, have deep pockets to fund your program, market effectively, accounting, business development, and all the other things it takes to run a successful program.
We're giving someone who really loves to be creative an outlet to do some really fabulous things. Working for someone isn't necessarily a bad thing.. we're offering a lot of creative control. |

$150k a year I'd hope, otherwise why wouldn't the person work for themselves?
Just a thought. Cheers, Matt |

I have to vouch for Ironhorse. I can't speak to all of the job requirements but I CAN tell you that he meets ALL of the design-specific requirements.
We have hired Ironhorse twice and, if he stays independent, we'll hire him again. Hell, I was even thinking of trying to convince him to relocate to Northern Cali to be OUR head of design. (No, Ironhorse and I are not bro's. I am just a VERY satisfied customer. He completed all work on-time, on-budget and beyond all expectations for quality.) Pleasure to the People!

a creative directory needs to be creative but also has to be able to direct people and get stuff done. be the boss so to speak and handle a lot more then just graphics.
whereas a graphic designer has to be excellent at graphics, having been to art college, i can say that a lot of the best artists i know probably wouldnt be all that great at being a boss. and running everything else for a company in the light that they are really into art and thats whats on thier mind, and should probably be left to completing art rather then left to worry about all the other facets of running a successful business. |

I can't speak for his management skills being as I don't know him that well, the work he's done for me has always been outstanding. It would be difficult for us to find someone to replace him!

I'd highly recommend Ironhorse.
I have used him on NUMEROUS projects. I saw his design efforts impact our Viagra site Drugs-Express back in '99. I saw our sales go up immediately and sustain. I've used him on personal sites such as my newest one about to launch any day: http://www.trafficfreaks.com He's consistent, he's a creative genius IMO, and he delivers. EVERYTIME.

A good manager shouldnt the best , he should be to get the best out of his people. A creative director should have vision and be able to convey that, not everyone has that. Also if he thinks he does everything faster and better, he becomes very poor at delegation. He winds running around like a chicken with its head cut off and burns out. |
