At our condo about 5 minutes off the strip. :) But Harrahs is a descent place, and as far as the one persons comment about holding funds, I think most places do that. The Aladdin did that to me when I was there a few years ago.

Venetian. I tried staying at a different hotel than then show last year in Vegas and in FL - as much as I hate the noise, trying to synchronize everything from a different hotel is even worse, IMHO. :(

Plus I'm bringing my son (he plans on sweet talking KK out of her truck :winkwink: ) and the Venetian has the sofa bed for him. I thought about just getting 2 rooms elsewhere, but I'd end up with $1000+ in Spectravision bills from his room if I did that.

I like Harrah's. I stay there all the time and I have never had any problems with them. They take really good care of me. I am by no means a high roller but they comp me a suite and anythign else i want anytime i go there.

I tried Harrah's last year and my biggest complaint was the noise. At the Venetian, the walls tend to be thicker, IME, and I don't hear the drunk kids coming in at 6 AM. :thumbsup

Here's a bit of advice that will get you a good deal:

1. Call the Venetian.
2. Ask for their best rate.
3. Create a BELIEVABLE, cheaper price that you "saw online".
4. Offer to pay in advance (non-refundable) if they can beat the price.

You may be surprised at the rates you'll be offered.

Just my :2 cents: . Take it or leave it. :)

You pay for rooms in Vegas?

Who else pays for their rooms?

Staying at the "V"!:thumbsup

JoeA -- all hotels put a hold on funds if you want things like the phone turned on and the ability to sign for room service or purchase things in the hotel gift shop without paying in cash.

I booked at the Venetian a couple days ago. Paying in advanced (non-refundable) dropped the price a good bit...I'd recommend calling rather than using their Internet form for that reason. I'm in the Venezia tower, the afterthought tower of rooms they just stuck onto a corner of the hotel.

On the cheapest rooms (one bed I think), the Venetian's standard rate (not paid in advance) was cheaper than the same room arranged through the deal on internext-expo.com. I gather the internext-expo agent is out of Venetian rooms entirely now anyway, but that would be irritating to go through them only to wind up with a higher price than calling the hotel.
