Acquiring Merchant Account for Adult Sites

    Hello,

I saw the post on the pros & cons of acquiring a Merchant Account vs Third Party billing. Now here's a question: what banks or institutions will actually provide Merchant Account for adult content providers (providing credit checks, company records, etc are complete & OK) ?

My nderstanding was that US banks do not provide Merchant Accounts for adult content....
    is this true??

bump...someone enlighten us I am very interested also
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

Right now, no US bank is issuing new adult merchant accounts

I have a merchant account which has been grandfathered in past new laws, and only because we sell physical product. people selling digitally distributed products are going to have a hell of a time getting any US proc. service.

US based Cardservice Intl. are the people to contact, they may not be able to hook you up directly but they will help put in the right direction for the next best alternative. (prolly offshore).

If you are in Europe, you can still get a merchant account. Otherwise, you can only get one Offshore now or in the US if your doing alot of money each month.

              Riban,
It is true that most domestic banks dont take adult content because of the risk. Bottom line is if you want to process and not get shut down you need to go offshore where your chargeback threshold is higher. Otherwise no domestic us bank will take it.

Yeah, it's basically true. I'm a merchant services provider and anything adult we have to take off shore. I can still help everybody out, but rates and fees are much different than mainstream.

I work for a merchant account provider and we are still setting up accounts for adult business. Unfortunately we are only taking on established business, not brand new sites etc.

In order to apply for a direct merchant account you would need to...
-be in business for 2 years
                    -currently process $100,000 per month
                    -under 1% ChargeBacks

If you happen to meet these requirements I would be able take your application. Rates and fee would be as follows

                    discount rate 4.00%
                    Trabsaction fee $0.30 (Including AVS)
                    Statement Fee $10.00
Start-up fee vary based on gateway etc
Reserve based on processing history, credit, etc

gateway fees may also apply. We work with several gatewyas that are very well versed in adult business... Jettis, DHD, Plug N Pay, VeriSign, Clear Commerce, etc

If you meet the above and are interested in talk - drop me an email or phone call
