Password Protection again ??

OK i know this has been asked before but i looked through previous messages and still haven't found the answer.

I want the best possible password and brute force attack protection software that's available. I want to be able to ban and un-ban single or multiple IPs and passwords manually as well as having an automated system. I want to be able to monitor members and IPs without having to go deep into the server or have our hosting company change parameters every time its required. I don't want to pay monthly fees and i need support from time to time.

So far i have found the following Bot Buster provided all of this but is now out of business. Proxy Pass is a good program but has no admin control that i can access ( as per Bot Buster) "Strongbox" and "Stop the Hack" seem like possible solutions but i get no reply to my e-mails. I would love a solution to this problem and welcome any help you guys can give.

Speak to them, Im telling you its worth every penny, the coding is in your virtual host container, so as far as I believe, not its not down when they are, the passwords still get blocked (Im no expert though, speak to them) It really is worth every penny, help you sleep safer at night, I wouldnt even think about running a pay site without it

Thanks guys i e-mailed both STOPTHEHACK and Strongbox but never received a reply, doesn't bode well for customer support.

I would rather pay a one time fee than any sort of monthly drip feed even if Pennywise is worth $49 each month i read other threads which said that when Pennywise is down you are unprotected, just like a burst condom ?

If anyone has any alternatives even custom programs i would love to hear about them

Bot Buster used to be the best program for site protection going, why did they go out of business ? for $139.00 it was great value. Anyone know what happened to them, their site is still up but no reply to e-mails or phone calls. Very strange.

Listen Cindyff,

NEVER pay for a monthly service. It's stupid. Irpotect does all those features AND more and it doesn't take any resources out of your box because it compiles directly into Apache as a mod. Takes 3 minutes. It's a little expensive ($500) but beyond worth it.

The guy who wrote it, Chris, is an amazing coder. His site isn't all that fancy, but does the job.

If you have questions, ask me. I don't sell it or barley know the guy, but I just fucking hate those companies that try to sell it as a monthly service so I'll do anything to assist.

Hey thanks, i do have one question, dose this software have a admin control that is accessible from outside the server in other words bot-buster was set up on the sites URL so that i could gain access go in and ban the password sharing fuckers or unblock and block IP addresses with going into the server admin and adding code . I also need to see members activity daily and when i see password sharing block that password. I realize that most people want this to be automatic and so do i but i also need to have manual control as well ?
Thanks

Hey ---

Yes, the latest version has a killer admin features (via a webpage) that enables you to block entire classes, etc.

The site was just up a few minutes ago but it will be back soon I'm sure. Don't take that as a bad sign . Truely, every large hosting company and adult company ownes this software and it's the only solution.

Paying a monthly subscription is like paying for porn monthly at $39.95 ... do you do it?

Here, I went ahead and uploaded a quick readme from the zip in a zip format. Gives you an idea how the features work.

I think the license is for one server but it may be more. Unlimited Domains for sure

Your very welcome.

I just can't stand to see people paying for password protection monthly and THEN, they have balls to try and charge you on the amount of members you have. Crazy Talk.

keep in mind with any any emails you send out expect a 24-72 hr wait period. The web master deals with more then one webmaster/webmistress and keeps all emails in que so its a first come first serve basis.
