				Best Drain Unblocking Product?

			What do you guys suggest?

Ive tried a plunger and some of that garbage you buy in the store that you pour down the drain and it works for a few days then starts backing up again. Anyone got any suggestions that actually WORK? |

Go to the hardware store and look for "Thrift" or a similar product. Don't buy a liquid drain cleaner. Those just won't work. Thrift looks like little purple pebbles. Just run some hot water down the drain (make SURE it's hot or Thrift sets up like cement). If they don't have Thrift, find something that sounds like sand when you shake the bottle.

		 Which drain?

Could be roots in the main line.. Do all drains back up or just certain ones? I had this problem recently.. Had a plumber run a snake and he pulled out strands of roots.. Got some root killer and it seems to be helping.. I'd just call in a plumber and see what he finds.. |

Call a plumber or something like roto rooter, and have them bring a snake out to root out your drain.. The products just make things better for short time, you'll be back using the stuff again and again.. Do it right the first time

Get the commercial strength acid, I think it is called Sanfax. It will eat through anything. Or better yet, go to the hardware store and buy a drain snake.

The first question is has anyone been pouring grease down the drain? Second is has this happened before?

I would suggest going to the hardware store and getting a cheap snake, and a bottle of cleaning enzymes. Pull the trap out and make sure it is clear, then run the snake down the rest of the drain and see if you can get it that way. If that gets it, then put everything together and dump the enzymes down there to break the rest of the crud loose. |
