Here's just my own personal take on this. I've seen a lot of people bash ICQ, wonder why people use it, etc. I say, who cares? If people like to do business with ICQ, then do business with ICQ =) If someone liked to do business while swimming under water damnit, i'd have a snorkel and some swim fins.

I personally run every chat client. First of all, with programs like trillian there's no reason why you shouldn't be available and active to anyone who'd prefer to message you on their platform of choice. Actually, I run AIM/MSN/Yahoo & trillian. I only use trillian for ICQ and extra AIM SN's.

Email should be a given, but lots of people need realtime communication to get a business deal done.

In any event - RUN EVERYTHING. It only increases your chances of making a deal go down.

uh, and if you hate the official ICQ client. Then try another!!
