agreed, however let's not forget...people are cows.... m00000000000000000000 give it what? 2 years and everyone will be forced into using MSN's IM? 2 years tops... m000000000000000000000 In the spirit of Magnolia Fan I say "Fuck MS, fuck them in their stupid asses!" support the monopoly, use their shit |
im guessing its because it was i think the first messenger client out there. i remember way back in the day the only thing i had was icq. there was aim but i don't recall anything else. used to work fine most of the time till one day it just stopped working for me and i had to install icqlite. no problems other than messages don't always send :BangBang:

good question. not even really sure why i use it
|
I was actually wonderin' why everyone used icq. Other than it (and other IMs) using a graphical interface, it can't compare to irc. :2 cents:
|
just two words: trillian pro
best shit out there!:thumbsup |

Cause it's easier to remember 1258964 than [email protected]! Nah... dunno have always used it even before I got into this biz.

ICQ vs MSN (OLD Timers VS Clueless Newbies)
I actually use Miranda (Similar to trillian) with 1 icq uin and 1 msn account to talk to the sheeps using MSN. I cant believe people actually defend msn. Shows how long they've been on the net! |
50 using ICQ

Force of habit

MSN has a whiteboard - nice feature to discuss projects fast
I had to set up icq 'cos 99% uses it. that's the industry rule, it seems now we are looking forward making a separate icq support |
Quote:
yeap, that is a really great feature |
another question is how many ppl are in your icq Contact List? in case you have more than 300-500, it begins to hang too often with 30+ simultaneous persons.
|
ICQ has already lost a lot of it's COOL features. Now they are gone. Somebody should get out there, and make something like ICQ Was!!! You could search by *email.com and get a list of emails by that nickname. Great way to meet other college students. Now that feature is gone.

ICQ Rocks

Miranda takes 400KB of memory when it's minimized. I have 512MB RAM so I don't care that much but it's a matter of principle - MSN SUX :winkwink: |

icq blows but is unfortunately a necessity due to the large number of people using it ... im glas msn added a history feature ... im gonna have to try trillian pro ... tried it a while ago and it sucked ass, maybe its better now?
|
Trillian Pro 2 :thumbsup
If you dont have it yet, get it now. |

:1orglaugh hehe.. no doubt eh? i use integrity messenger.. basically does the same thing too. and free ;) |
does trillian support ICQ ?
|
HU-HO :)
I use ICQ but I dont leave it open all the time. the HU-HO is quite annoying sometimes when you try to concentrate on the job... IMHO |

why icq?
- offline messages - insibility option - selective visibility while in invisible mode - message history - a lot more popular internationally. AIM is an american, easy-to-use, primitive, for-dummies kinda chat client. - unlimited contact list - can read profiles of offline users - none of that warning crap that AIM has. - u can use it like a side-bar. etc... |

u can put custom sounds too |

it opens up Paint, and you can draw on it while chatting |
Because Lensman put Nicotine here and now i'm addicted! :rasta
But really i'm looking for a renter and i will be making deals with my sites when they're built :Graucho |
