ICQ is faster than MSN, and you can leave offline message (msn don't, you need to write an email)..

:D

That's what I love is the offline message feature. Which NO OTHER messanger can do!

MSN has a whiteboard - nice feature to discuss projects fast

I had to set up icq 'cos 99% uses it. that's the industry rule, it seems

now we are looking forward making a separate icq support

yeap, that is a really great feature

adultwebware 12-14-2003 01:37 AM

another question is how many ppl are in your icq Contact List? in case you have more than 300-500, it begins to hang too often with 30+ simultaneous persons.

BluntMatch 12-14-2003 01:43 AM

ICQ has already lost a lot of it's COOL features. Now they are gone. Somebody should get out there, and make something like ICQ Was!!! You could search by *email.com and get a list of emails by that nickname. Great way to meet other college students. Now that feature is gone.

ICQ Rocks

I use MSN from time to time - has a promise but I hate the fucker - MS never fails to make the most annoying app... can't turn it down, too much memory, etc.

Miranda takes 400KB of memory when it's minimized. I have 512MB RAM so I don't care that much but it's a matter of principle - MSN SUX :winkwink:

icq blows but is unfortunately a necessity due to the large number of people using it ... im glas msn added a history feature ... im gonna have to try trillian pro ... tried it a while ago and it sucked ass, maybe its better now?

Hindsight 12-14-2003 07:42 AM

Trillian Pro 2 :thumbsup

If you dont have it yet, get it now.

In terms of portability icq sucks, but it has it's strong points. Like the ability to send messages to offline people and they will receive them afterwards. That helps alot when you're dealing with people in different timezones. Other than that I don't know why I use it....:( holy sheep herding batman...

I actually use Miranda (Similar to trillian) with 1 icq uin and 1 msn account to talk to the sheeps using MSN.

I cant believe people actually defend msn. Shows how long they've been on the net!

:1orglaugh hehe.. no doubt eh?

i use integrity messenger.. basically does the same thing too. and free ;)

sweet7 12-14-2003 09:14 AM

does trillian support ICQ ?

MichaelP 12-14-2003 11:30 AM

HU-HO :)

I use ICQ but I dont leave it open all the time. the HU-HO is quite annoying sometimes when you try to concentrate on the job... IMHO

why icq?

- offline messages

- insibility option

- selective visibility while in invisible mode

- message history

- a lot more popular internationally. AIM is an american, easy-to-use, primitive, for-dummies kinda chat client.

- unlimited contact list

- can read profiles of offline users

- none of that warning crap that AIM has.

- u can use it like a side-bar.

etc...

u can do the same on icq

Head 12-14-2003 03:43 PM
