This is my favorite quote

Quote:
Robert A. Berman, general counsel for Acacia, said that many inventors and companies don't have the sophistication, expertise or money to commercialize their inventions.

"We provide a service," ....

I wasn't aware that stealing money was a service now...:graucho

I'm sure they look at it that way since the law basically allows them to get away with it for now... email your congress people and complain. They surely didn't set the patent office up with the idea in mind that people could patent a simple idea versus a tangible product. So people are taking advantage of hos the tangible laws are written.

Patenting an idea or process would be fine if they involved actual equipment or chemical processes that they had themselves invented or altered to do the job. But to allow them to patent *my* equipment into *their* process is pretty silly.

Remember Acacia are just one company with a patent to screw us, there are many more out there.

Acacia made $27,000,000out of the V-Chip patent until a judge knocked it down in court. This patent will get knocked down in court, but how much money will they make before it is knocked down?

Then how will other companies with broad patents view us, as "Low Hanging Fruit" or "hard Nuts to Crack"? I think the answer depends on how much money Acacia make licensing a piece of BS.

I have always said we need to crush Acacia to show ourselves and the other predators we are not to be taken lightly,

I believe they will be stopped, once it gets into the right court. Any judge that knows one thing about the internet, will knock that patent down. And hopefully one day soon, the fucking patent office them selves will knock it down!

I think after they have sued the Universities, they will get a larger audience right now and even microsoft is starting to react on them. So, bad times will come over ACACIA
