i actually have a friend that had a run in with these assholes and nearly took them to court. maybe what theyre doing is good, but they overstep their bounds i think. chat logs are too easily faked and altered.

he was just sittin there chatting with some girl who claimed to be 18. later she says shes 13. so my pal tells her to fuck off. but this chick kept hounding him to talk, to meet, to have sex... finally he just puts her on ignore. next thing u know, theres 3 other screen names messaging him talking shit, tryin to get him to meet a little kid for sex. he finally got pissed and just turned off the computer.

so a few days later he starts getting phone calls from random people calling him a pedophile. finally one of the callers admitted where his number came from - their website. so he goes to look and its all there under his yahoo screen name. chat logs, phone numbers, pictures, etc. of course the chat log was chopped up, contained bits & pieces of the conversation, and even some shit he didnt even say.

after a nasty letter from an attorney they removed his info and agreed to never chat with him again, but i guess they are still up and running.

its a shame that people have to be that way, this COULD be a good idea if done properly. but now, its just another asshole trying to entrap innocent people.

I found this thread through my stattracker. Usually I don't sign up and respond to what people say since, hey, free country, if you don't like the site, so what?

But the above post is chock-full of utter and ridiculous lies. There has never been a case in the sites history where an attorney has emailed us to take down a file and we have. Not only do I highly doubt that you have a friend who has had a run-in with us, but I highly doubt you had ever even heard of the website before. I do not know what has compulsed you to tell a really goofy story, perhaps you knew someone we posted who is a skillful liar -- doubtful, since I can count on one hand the people we've taken down, and none of them come close to the situation you've described -- but I highly doubt it.

Congratulations on your fantastic storytelling ability. I encourage you to enter the field of fictional writing, you'd make a mint.

exactly why do you do that site? From experience of dealing with with pedophiles a common trait for them was doing stuff like this. They have this feeling that what they are doing is helping kids in some way.

Not that I really believe your a pedophile I'm just curious as some things are common. Also oddly enough the people that voiced the most hatred were the people that were looked at first.

I give my reasons for doing the site on the staff page. Firstly, the site was never intended to be a national effort. A person I knew named Frank was doing this to clean up Portland chat, and I offered to host his efforts. From there, people wanted to help out, we did a lot of good in Portland chat and everyone wanted to go down to California. And then so on, and so forth. I didn't "set out" to create a huge anti-groomer site, it just sort of happened. And, as an aside, I'm not a do-gooder that says "oh, anything for the children." To tell you the truth, I don't even really like children. Nor will I ever have any children. I just really, really hate molestors and those who wish to molest. I've known enough females to have empathy for the problem. As well, I'm a Libertarian, and we're known to really dislike those who would initiate force or coercion against anyone, let alone someone who is not matured.

As for the "common trait", that's a very broad "common trait." Extending it, let's go ask a few pediatricians if they're pedophiles as well, while we're at it. I don't understand what you meant by your last sentence, please rephrase.

I didn't come here to debate the site nor my intentions, which are all spelled out in the staff page. Just wanted to respond to the quite odd storytelling of the previous poster.

without getting really into this which I don't feel like doing, I would just be very, very, careful. Not that I don't applaud people for taking a stand against CP it's just more times than not there are other motives.

Just to clarify, we have nothing to do with child porn. I don't have the stomach to run that sort of operation. Many props to the work you and others do to combat that problem.

As for "other motives", I can't prove my motives, I can just explain them. Whether anyone believes or not is up to them. I don't really care, like I said, I'm not concerned with PR.
