im looking at buying a gun, what should i get?
im looking for something in the $500-$750 range for home protection. ive used a buddies glock23 and liked it alot but people keep telling me s&w 1911. the cheapest i can find is $1k where the glock23 new is $550. anyone familiar with glocks and know which is better. the glock is .40 and the 1911 is .45.

if you want something for home protection get a shotgun not a pistol. for one nothing scares the shit out of an intruder more then hearing you pump a shotgun. second they leave a lot of margin for error should you be defending your home in the middle of the night in the dark and still groggy from sleep or what not.GFY Voice of ReasonComment

1) Kimber
2) SIG-ARMS
3) HK
The sig actually shot better for me at short distances but I ranked the Kimber higher as did great all around (short, far, water, sand, etc)Comment
