For home defense, either a shotgun or as SleazyDream suggested, a hard hittin' staple gun :winkwink:

The way you talk about guns is exactly what makes me think that out of all people you certainly shoulnt be allowed to have one.
i already own a few

Its not a toy dude...its a deadly weapon...please read those stats above again...you are part of it...maybe not active but you are a potential, just like EVERY owner of a gun.
again see post about not having a problem with responsible people owning them. and every thing has some risks

Oh and dont come up with the fact that kids are dying of cancer...i know you said that without thinking...lets forget it, just dont do it again.

I shot a .50 BMG over tg weekend, and a slew of other things (enfield, ak-47, mini-14, m14, 20gauge, 12 gauge,
a few .45s (glock and 1911), several
9mm, a walther .22 that was just stupid(good round, bad construction, felt kinky), a few other things)

If you've never shot a .50 before, I highly recommend you do. Its an experience. A .50 handgun just scares the hell out of me.

For home defense? a 9mm or .40 s&w with frangible ammo so it won't go through sheet rock, but will nicely pepper anyone coming through the door. Its a bit more expensive, but hey.

If you want to show off the size of your dick/gun, don't get one. you'll just end up killing yourself or someone you care about. If you want to protect yourself,
go take some shooting safety classes before you buy. Go to a range where you can rent a bunch of weapons, BEFORE you buy. (and don't buy a fucking Makararov, they're cheap as hell for a reason). Try before you buy! If you have small hands like me, a .45 is a bit too much. A 9mm? right on....

good luck, go find a range.

Correct,

if you must go with a pistol then a revolver, they are the most foolproof and jam resistant.

I hate guns myself, but I have a loaded shotgun and a multi-story house. The dogs wake me as the intruder climbs the staircase, and before he makes it to the 3rd floor the lights are on and he's looking into the barrel of a 12 gauge.

I will kill to protect members of my family, and I hate guns.
