    Registered letter from German Gov't today concerning SleazyDream....

    I go to the mail today and I get a registered letter from the german gov't concerning my site.

    says they are the official adminastrative authority of the german gov't.

    seems sleazydream is going to be reviewed by a pannel of 12 germans from different social organizations like religious groups and teachers. if they don't like the site it will be put in the 'index' - apparently a bad place to be.

    thye go on to say pornographic content is ONLY legal if viewed through an AVS. this is fucking insane.

    they go on to say that if/when I'm included in the 'index' I'm prohibited from using teasers, trailers, or other adverising content and subject to criminal prosecution


    wake up people - any concerned parent just has to restrict adult content on IE and no more sleazydream. AVS doesn't do this - any kid can get a credit card but it's a lot harder to bypass and adult lock out procected by password if the parents hide the password and the re-boot disks. Demanding AVS might stop sleazydream - but not the 1,000,000,000,000 other porn sites out there and isn't a feasable option.


    thoughts on if i should respond to them or just ignore it?

    anyone else get a registered letter from these bozos?

                                                              all i know is that if a kid wants to look at porn, no filter, no password, no fucking thing will weaken his will to get porn..... it will only make it stronger to get what he/she wants. Besides, filtering should be left with the parents.... If a parent wants his kid to have a computer, then it is the parents responsibility for what goes on with that pc... Sure, a parent canT be there 24/7, oh well, tough fucking luck. Kids will ALWAYS do things they are not supposed to no matter what restrictions u have on them.

So, it is a true Adult Verification System but nothing like the AVS's that we are used to.

                                                                                                                                                              I wouldn't say that's "more fucked". I'd say that's the right way to make an AVS, if you're going to make one at all.

It is federally-issued and everyone has it, so all adults there are already kind of registered with the government.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      wake up people - any concerned parent just has to restrict adult content on IE and no more sleazydream. AVS doesn't do this - any kid can get a credit card but it's a lot harder to bypass and adult lock out procected by password if the parents hide the password and the re-boot disks. Demanding AVS might stop sleazydream - but not the 1,000,000,000,000 other porn sites out there and isn't a feasable option.

Much better for the parent to block the adult stuff then rely on someone else to watch out for their children
