$1*8hours*24days=$192 per month. Yum, nice wage for many of Russians I'm familiar with. But trust me, you'll get what you paid for. The Russian peope who work for these money are usually that lazy and/or dumb that you cannot even trust them with TGP posting. Unless you give them hosting, templates and submitter and supervise them twice per day.
Honestly, 80% of ex-USSR people can't work good despite how much you pay them. Socialism is an evil. It totally corrupted people in USSR. Couple of generations have to change before they start working good.
And BTW - this is what really scares me in US and other western countries - too much socialism recently... I'm too damn familiar with what it may end with.
Another my observation is that exactly Canadian people are always that cheap. I mean they try to get Russian workforce for $100-$150 per month. US and German employers usually tend to pay essentially more. I'm quite familiar with this theme, I know many Russian programmers who do jobs for westerners. I always wonder regarding to that - are they that poor in Canada?Comment

I have co-founded and worked in an outsourcing company in Eastern Europe - wages like $150 bring tears to my eyes... really.
The average wage for a good programmer is $600-1000. If you contact a company, expect a daily rate of $100-150 depending on the project duration and the overall agreement. Expect to pay a higher rate if the project is fixed-priced.
Just my 2 cents...

Some of them trully are. However not those who work for $200 per month. Good Russian programmer makes at least $800-$1000 per month, if he's in Russia. In major Russian cities good programmer can make $2000-$2500 per month. I was familiar with some who got into USA and their wages was around $130'000 per year. Just because you are of a certain ethnic heritage does not automatically mean you are good or bad at something. Its all a sterotype that people insist on placing others into.
I know many very talented programmers / desingers / developers that are from a variety of places on the map and hail from all kinds of backgrounds.
The smart thing to do is to ask people for examples of their work, provide references, even a resume to you for consideration.
These items among others are what REAL business folks go on to determine abilites of their staffs.
