I was driving in a perfectly safe manner, in the fast lane, on a 3 lane motorway @ around 70. Nobody behind or in front of me. In the next lane was the dumb overly timid bitch in her red Pug, going about 60. In the outer lane, a huge European truck. Well... as I reach the side of the Pug, the truck started to indicate for whatever reason... it didn't start to move, just indicate. So, about 0.5 seconds later, the dumb bitch decided to suddenly move out of it's way into the outer lane, where I was travelling. My front was about 2 metres from her rear, which might as well be nothing when I'm going faster than her. She must have seen me, had I been able to pass her I'd have been in her blind spot for all of 0.1 seconds.

Luckily I travel about 70-80 miles/day on the motorway, going with the flow in the fast lane, and through city centres in rush hour morning & evening, so I'm quite sharp to this kind of thing and I'm always half expecting someone to do something stupid. Of course I never take my eyes off the road. It might have been okay, had she not been going slower than me I'd have just eased off the gas pedal. Holy shit. I saw the truck indicate and I expect that she'd move out of the way - just not in a manner that would cause me to skid around 20 metres. Now I'm going 70 with no control over the car and I'm inches from her rear bumper.

Everything seemed to go in slow motion. It's funny how you remember safety things, like instinct - don't grip the wheel too tightly, keep calm, don't steer while skidding, control it, etc. I was going FASTER than her, so I can't believe that I didn't hit her, the centre rails, or skid into the middle lane. Had I tagged her, she'd have been into the rails, in that little shitty no-safety Pug at around 65. Bye bye legs.

People, please, check your mirrors before maneuvering. The human brain is fast as fuck - it takes a normal person what, a second to check your mirror and blind spot, maybe not even that.

On the stretch of interstate I drive, that happens to me at least twice per week. Usually someone on a cell phone, or the same timid lady you describe. Some people shouldn't drive.

Got lucky, happens a lot here since I live in a border city and a lot of people from Mexico come here and drive and have clue how to drive in America on the freeway. Gotta always be on the look out when driving here.

Ahh, they just made driving with a cellphone illegal here, but apparently a lot of people are still using them.

Funny, just yesterday I saw a Corsa move from the fast lane into the middle lane at around 100, right into the side of a BMW that was going at about the same speed. The guy must've been playing with the radio or something. Lucky the slow lane was empty, because that's where the Bimmer ended up after much horn tootin'... it seemed like I was watching it in slow motion. Missed the guy by inches.

I only realised a few minutes later that I was actually thinking, as it happened, "this shit will do great on Ogrish".

LOL...I've thought that before! I see so much weird shit, I've actually looked into getting a dash cam. Nothing like recording other peoples stupidity.

One day I saw a dog run up on the highway only a couple hundred feet in front of me. He ran across and got hit by the guy driving in the lane next to me. Damn dog looked up at the last second and dropped it's tail. The truck caught the him in the side of the head and it was on it's side spinning on the center line when I went past it.

Just seeing that fucked me up for a few days

LOL this wal-mart guy in a buggy once tried to ticket me for running a stop sign in the wal-mart parking lot ( i wasnt at wal-mart just driving thru the parking lot ) and i was like hey buddy im writing you a ticket for being a fat lazy ass who thinks he is a cop. And they guy freaked out , lol whipped out his walkie talkie and started calling for backup lol i drove away laughing.

In NJ you can't be in the (fast/passing lane for more then 10 seconds)
