Why would you type that in a search engine?
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

Before we think of slavery as being a thing of the past, just think of the millions of people in the US that work pay check to pay check, barely squeeking by. Those people can't afford to not work, and without any sort of education, they stay at shitty jobs their entire lives with no recourse but to work till they die.

Damn good thing too, 'cause they buy all sorts of shit that keeps the economy moving... And they have lots of kids that need food and clothes and toys...

you want to get even more fucked up - let's look at this - and this will blow your mind.

The net present value of an annuity at 10% interest is 10X the yearly payment. This means that if the going interest rate is 10% and all else constant, paying 10,000 a year towards a perpetuity FOREVER is equal to $100,000. There's math behind this but that's the way it works.

If you are going to make $50,000 a year until the day you die (assume that you start out at 30 and work up to 70 and retire), your life is worth LESS THAN $500,000. That's the cold hard truth. Bear in mind that these numbers are a little basic and there are other factors, but financially speaking, that is the GROSS economic value of one average human life. Depressing? Incredibly.

                Finance is very powerful.

It is more than just a friend!

Talking about money, and what people earn, it is always amazing to me what people consider 'a lot of money'. I was talking with a friend today that is considering bankrupcy because their income is only ~$1,500 a month and they owe ~$100,000 in old debt. To me it is money, but it isn't such a big number that it makes me flinch. To them it is a mountain of debt...

Amazing the difference your mindset makes..

well after eyeballing that one through my basic financial calculator in my head, they should probably file.

if they're doing 18k a year, and the interest rate is assumed at 10%, their net present value of their whole life's gross is $180,000. That's before taxes, kids, rent, food, medical, car, car insurance, etc. You can't live off $80,000 for the rest of your life after that is paid out.

I really don't know how the average person survives in this world.
