BTW i found the wickedest flaw in GFY yet today :) I bet if someone unleashed it , it could cripple a board.
If anyone runs the same version of this board. You should get me to contact you. |
None of those work with Slackware 9.1 and Opera 7.21 (and no java installed).

But regardless of what it does , its basically the same as popups or flash overlays. Thats what my point was. |

Seriously if your running that then you cant access about anythng the internet has to offer. |
First one got by PopupStopper, other two didn't.
With popupstopper turned off, 1 and 2 worked but three still didn't as I have my java APPLET disabled. I just don't think it would be worth anything to me... :2 cents: Copper Wulf :winkwink: |

the only things that are missing are quicktime and shockwave (and who ever uses them anyway)... flash, streaming media, full CSS support are all there. |

The original applet that loads the popup applet is where you would place the button or whatever you want to disable the popup window. Im not very experienced with applets, so i would need some tutorials to make a good example fully done. |
All of em popped up using IE 6 with google toolbar 100% success rate

Regardless the point is about popups , and currently i see about 10-15% of my surfers seems to be using them but i prob have less than .1% of surfers using your setup. |

The third needs applets enabled or it just wont work, but most people have them enabled, those that dont prob are smart enough not to spend money online :) |
Code:
eval('window.open( Code:
eval('wi' + 'ndo' + 'w.op' + 'en( version of IE it will probably be part of the hahahahahahahahahaha engine, so that once disabled the window.open method will be completely disabled on a low level. In the end no matter how your hiding the code it will never stop the code from being what it is (a call to window.open). As soon as window.open is called I'm sure the new IE will know all about it no matter how it was hidden. You could always use one of the many unpatched IE security holes or one of the many new ones that will come with the new version to modify their registry and change their options. Wonder when MS will get around to patching IE. -Ben |
j-a-v-a-s-c-r-i-p-t....
gee can't that ban be changed to <hahahahahahahahahaha and hahahahahahahahahaha: .... The word "j-a-v-a-s-c-r-i-p-t" isn't a dangerious thing. -Ben |
Changed tooo..........
< - j - a - v- a - s - c - r - i - p - t and j - a - v - a - s - c - r - i - p - t: Less-than blah blah colon -Ben |

I dont think that "modifying" peoples computers is a very good idea. But they def need some work done to fix holes. I def done think the days of popups will be over anytime soon. disabling window.open will cause alot of good uses of the code to be put to waste, unless the have something new , and if they do , chances are it will be poor and undercoded :) and have dozens more flaws :) |
Damn.... talking with a guy gagging you every few seconds is hard.
I meant.... ="J-a-v-a-s-c-r-i-p-t" =J-a-v-a-s-c-r-i-p-t J-a-v-a-s-c-r-i-p-t: -Ben |

Not suggesting anyone hack.... Just saying ppl will find ways.
Yeah there are a lot of sites using window.open for legit purposes. I'd have to guess that they'll have a button, maybe something like how they did cookie privacy. Although that is a bit hard to find for a newbie. Maybe if you click a link twice they'll prompt you or something.... Or have a popup that asks you to add the site to a trust list something like how activex firewalls work. I can't imagine them doing it the same way most of these others work, where the code has to be analised and changed. That just seems like a burden on CPU for every single page downloaded, when it would be better to only have the CPU work when there is an actual popup. I'm thinking they'll include it as a prompt, toolbar or statusbar feature rather than an afterthought HTML scanner. -Ben |

If your'e taking free content from a site and blocking the ads they use to pay for their internet presence, you're being an ass. The end game that you glorified surfers don't see is the end of the most lucrative for of advertising on the net. What happends when instead of a site making 2.00 cpm on a site they make .10cpm? answer: they go away. what happends when the adult site paying you 40.00 a sale loses 40% of their profits? answer: you put the paper hat back on and thank your lucky stars you like the smell of french fries. Assclowns who think popup blockers are good are either surfers or too dumb to be in this biz in the first place. which one are you? |

Heh you tell em :thumbsup I think if i.e. comes out with anything good they willl just use it like an antivirus program, they wont stop all the popups unless you keep paying for updates :) |

I'm looking into putting an end to popup blockers. stay tuned. |

As to saying my popup applet code doesn't get around the blockers. You should atleast search for the post , download the code, compile it, put it in a page, and then retract the statement of lazy ignorance. |
