No central vacuum unit. Just a quality bagless vacuum.

The thought of dragging hoses around the house seems kinda odd, even if you can just plug them into a wall. Not to mention if the damn thing fucks up, what kind of repair are you looking at? What happens when your 2nd floor is clogged or something?

Now the little robot vacuums look fun, but that is something else all together.

Hey bone, did you opt for the tankless hot water heater? Now that is a great feature.

i have one that was here before i bought the place but we have never even used it...the normal vac works like a charm

evildick 12-02-2003 04:46 PM

What's suppose to be the benefit of a central vac? you've still got to lug the head unit around to each room right? You just plug it into the wall. Maybe it's a little lighter, that's all.

The part that does the cleaning is the rotating head unit on the vacuum. That is the part that makes the most difference. You can spend all the money you want on a central vac and if it doesn't have a good sweeper attachment then it is not going to be worth shit.

Just get a decent 12 amp vacuum and save yourself the money.

:2 cents:

BillyHoe 12-02-2003 05:20 PM

It's not worth it unless you plan on doing the cleaning...lol The hose is long and fairly heavy. I just bought a new house this week, and was gonna get it install and I've been hearing nightmare stories about them.
They mark up your walls, and the hose always gets in the way, and unlike a vacum you either have to always leave the hose out, or trek it up and down stairs to put it away. Spend the money on a light weight high end badless vacum. I'm in the middle of looking for a good one myself. I'll let you know what I find.

Just my :2 cents:

I dont have a maid.

If I did, I would especially want this.
Stupid whores would probably bang and dent the walls with a regular vaccum..

Right?

My house came with one. I bought a new long hose with a nice powerhead for extra cleaning power. After a few times of dragging out the hose and all the putting it away after, I got tired of dealing with it. I love my Oreck and use it all the time. I haven't used the central vac in several years.

I have maids here every other Wednesday. I offered it for their use several times and each time they declined saying their upright was easier to deal with. I agree.

Actually the dang long hose for the central vac is really easy to drag along edges of walls, etc. Pulled the drywall off one section of mine way back when.

joshuawk 12-02-2003 07:53 PM

NOTHING CAN FADE A CENTRAL VAC.

THE LADIES *LOVE* THEM.

boneprone 12-02-2003 08:25 PM

Ok fuck it..

Im getting in the car now and driving to the Wilsonville Target..

To buy the best Vaccum they have..

Shit.......

Volantt 12-02-2003 08:34 PM

In the house we built in Battleground, WA we had the central vac installed. Can't remember what it cost us but was well worth it. We also have the kick thingy in the kitchen which gets used a ton with the pergo floors. Not to bad as the bank said it increases the value of the house.

Ive had beams in 4 different houses over the last 20 years.
They are awesome. You get outlets placed in the house, in the garage, even out on the patio if you want. Vacuuming a big house with lots of levels and stairs is a pain in the ass with an upright vac. With a built in, its a snap.

BradShaw 12-02-2003 09:49 PM

If my maid banged up the walls, I would just call the INS.

LOL.

What an asshole..

Poor kids..

TonyL 12-03-2003 12:58 AM

Im not sure what brand mine is it was already here when I purchased the house. I've never actually used it but I haven't heard any complaints from the house keeper. Best thing about it is it's very quite. Keeps dust levels low too. Since normal vacuums blow dust back into the air. The only vacuum im aware of that doesn't blow dust back into the air is a rainbow. Rainbows will run you over $2500. I have a rainbow for sale if anyone wants it =)
