Depends on what you're after. I used to have a site that I ran chatblazer on
http://www.chatblazer.com I have also used SPiN chat http://chat.spin.de/en/ Both are good but if I had to do it all over again I would go with chatblazer.

That's the nice thing about chatblazer and SPiN. You run the server so if it goes down, you can fix it. It beats the hell out of those IRC chats too. Especially for a members area.
