The Eight Biggest Tech Flops Ever

Does anyone remember GO?
No, not the Internet site, though that also failed.

What about the Segway?

Talk about an overhyped ridiculous P.O.S. flop.

Ahh... memory lane.

I remember in 1992 when the Go product and pen computing debuted. All the magazines were fawning and swooning, and I was laughing my ass off. A keyboard is a ten times better input device than scribbling on a pad. Even if they had executed perfectly, it would have gone nowhere IMHO.

The problem with technology is that a lot of people think that because you *can* do something, you *should* do it.

Simply not always the case.

I would say one big flop is that IBM operating system that came out a few years back that was going to take over microsoft windows. I forget the name.

OS/2 Warp -- I think I still have my original box and 3.5" disks in the basement somewhere. Probably collectors items by now...

I collect Dot Bomb memorabillia if anyone has something. I personally think that Pointcast was the biggest flop ever considering the founder turned down billions in cash a few months before declaring bankruptcy.
