I dont think you fully understand. I dont know how it was where you were raised, but lots of us who live/lived in some "urban areas" know from experience - you dont just dont stick your nose in random business. Personally, Ive had a close friend get shot right in the face for something very similar.

When you're trying to insult a single person, why would you use a word that insults an entire race of people? There are other words you could use just as easily. So why would you choose that particular word? Obviously because he's black. And that makes you a racist... period.

Hope you two learned to WALK AWAY from trouble. Don't depend on the kindness of strangers to bail your ass out - it rarely happens. Dont you realize that when people stand on a ledge, most of the crowd yells "jump!"? Traffic slows down for accidents - not to help, but to see how bad someone got fucked up.

If you cant handle him, dont fuck with him. If he is fucking with you, get your ass away from him. Fast. The convention is pretty spacious. Plenty of room to find a nice safe quiet spot away from that guy.

I wasn't exactly raised in a sheltered environment. I also spent over a year homeless. The real kind of homeless with shelters and soup kitchens and steam grates and the whole nine yards. My first home after getting off the streets and out of the shelter was on the near east side of Cleveland. Not in the projects, though. They were one whole street over. It's not a matter of understanding; sometimes it's worth it to stick your nose in. In this case there had already been two altercations with no knives or guns, so that excuse is even weaker than usual.

I'm not telling other people how to live but I think it's very telling that with all the hardass motherfuckers we seem to have around here, no one stepped in.
