Any Math Whizzes out there???

Having a little trouble with this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If 15 times the reciprocal of a number is A=added to the ratio of 9 times a number minus 7 and the number is plus 2, the result is 9. What is the number?

Can you set this one up? I bow down if you can.

Thanks,

--Ken Dog

I wish I cold be more clear. However, This college instructor unfortunately needs a "plexotomy."

Plexotomy: Surgical proceedure where a doctor cuts a square out of your abdomen and places a piece of plexiglas over the hole so that you can see where your going when you have your head up your ass.

Can you maybe try and decipher what she is trying to say???

Thanks,

15/A + (9A - 7)/(A+2) = 9

Think that's it if I read right.

Not a whiz tho, just a programmer.

15/A is inverse of the number
reciprocal is A(-1) I believe

The recip of a number means when they are multiplied, the answer is 1.

Ex. 3 x 1/3 =1

Those numbers are recips

You're only considering scalars. When dealing with, say tensors , the difference becomes more important .
