Suing a .Net?

Example:

Say you owned OnAdult.com

and on your site it was about something mainstream like a guide "On Adult" Supervision...

Then someone registers the .Net and puts adult content on it...

Have courts ever found .Net owners to be liable for actions or bad publicity it may have given its .com counterpart?

This is actually for a mainstream idea of mine.. but I found a great 4 letter .net and I'm curious how this would work out worst case scenario since my .net development would be much bigger than the .com's

Whether or not you will win is a question I couldn't answer, but it seems there is definitely enough room there for suing to occur. So if you dont mind the lawyer bills and think you can outpay your competition then go for it.

People today are suing because they choose to eat fast food and smoke... I would say you are at risk of being sued for just about everything you do. I say, go for it! Fuck the lawyers... (just make sure you have a couple of your own) haha

Ya might have trouble winning such a suit..

It isn't a name you could trademark, so there's no infringement..
The .net site is not one that could be confused with your offerings..

As cheap as it is do it nowadays, you should have registered the .net, .biz, and the other dots in order to avoid such things from happening..
