james bond

Sean Connery started the James Bond franchise. Imo, if any of the subsequent bonds, including Roger Moore had been the first, it would have sizzled from the start.

Sean Connery was made for the part, smooth and charming

Sean Connery is definately the real Bond.

The modern Pierce Brosnan bullshit really gets on my nerves, it's more Starwars than anything else (Although I loved Goldeneye, awesome characters and awesome plot).

Agreed. Sean Connery was the king of cool. IMHO if he were still playing James Bond he could pull it off better than these wankers.

i don?t that Pierce makes a horrible bond, i think that the script is outlandish

the last one that I had watched was more fantasy than anything else, although in the 80?s, Moonraker was not too much better?

Sean Connery is by far the best Bond. Brosnan is ok, any thoughts on who would make a better Bond? I can't think of any actors that could fill those shoes...

Yeah he wasn't the first.

I heard that the person who is to replace the current Bond, is Australia's Hugh Jackman.

Interesting choice...they need some fresh blood for sure...and someone a little younger than Moore or Brosnan were when they started.

This quote is taken from ther link I posted earlier.

"Contrary to popular belief, the honour of being the first actor to play James Bond fell not on Sean Connery, but on American Barry Nelson, who starred in this live 1 hour production of Ian Fleming's Casino Royale. The performance on 21 October 1954 (8.30pm EST) was the first in CBS's 'Climax' series of dramas. CBS brought the rights for Fleming's first book for $1000."

corvett talked about the Bond Franchise...not the Movies.

When they was first considering Bronson to replace Moore they talked to Ian Fleming, who said NO ONE came close to the look and ability of his idea of a Perfect Bond than Bronson. It was as if his writings came alive when he first saw Bronson was what he supposedly said.

I think that Connery and Moore each have their moments, but Bronson steals the franchise.

Evil Dan would make a good Bond.

Or maybe Meatman or Dialer Dave.

Sean Connery was offered the part of 007, bescuase he was lucky and got a leading role in a play in London when the leading man pulled out due to illness!

His brother was on T.V last week talking about it!! He stormed into the the audition for bond and flung the script at the director!!
He got the part lol!!!

The first ever bond movie was quite crap lol!!!

Not bad for a guy who was brought up in Edinburgh and had no qualififcations and worked as a milkman!!
