Give me ideas on how to raise money for the defense fund.

As you all know, or should, I'm very anti Acacia even to the point of being boring. What I'm trying to do now is find a way to raise money for the defense fund other than just giving money ourselves, which we are doing.

So put on your thinking caps and come up with ideas. These can be applicable and used by anyone else, content providers, sponsors, hosts, 3rd party processors. We all need to fight this together.

I have a great idea. How about getting a whole bunch of content providers, traffic resellers, hosting companies, etc. together to donate prizes and hold a raffle. The content providers, etc. would donate the prizes outright and each raffle ticket would cost, say, $5.00. The grand prize winner might end up getting $5,000 in content, $3,000 in traffic and $1,000 in hosting (for example) and then there could be maybe 5 or 10 runners up that would get a couple hundred dollars in content. ALL money from raffle sales would go to the defense fund. It wouldn't technically cost content providers very much to donate (and would certainly give them a PR boost in the eyes of the community).

Would be alot of fun for all involved and it would help a great cause, too.

So I auction off a load of content and the highest bidder gets it and I send the money to the fund?

well, you get a bunch of peeps to donate services/product to the auction. then you hold the auction live like in IRC chat. that's the way they've done it before.

The best ideas have been auction based so tomorrow I will be starting an auction with some of my content.

A webmaster board owner has donated three banners anyone else got anything they would like to donate?

Also someone suggested selling T-Shirts with an anti Acacia slogan, anyone got any ideas on that? Nothing that will get the webmaster sued.

The auction is going to be the way to go; everyone thinks it's a good idea.

Will start for now by going around the boards with some of my sets on an exclusive license. And possibly some of our "Special Offer Packages"

Am also looking for other items to auction. So anyone with anything can come forward now. Post here or ICQ me.

The winning bid will get 48 hours to send me the money that I will forward to the defense fund. Less the processing fees.

Will put up a simple page showing the item, with a description and if required linking to a page containing more details on the item donators site. Will also have a banner of the item donator on my site, so long as they want to, they can remain anonymous.

Still thinking it through so anyone with ideas please come forward. This is new ground for me.

If people sign up for WEGCash through my sig and promote them, and I come in first place in their contest, I'd be willing to donate $10 for every person who signed up.

Kinda lame, but it's all I can think of.

The way I look at it is; the Acacia IP team needs some IP.

Get your best looking gorl and do 2 shots of her, 1 sitting up and 1 laying down with website signs.. neatly lettered and readable. So they could be incorporated in to logos and the like.

Charge 50 for one set (2 pics) and make a deal for others from the same webmaster if they want to do other sites they own. Take out the bit the model costs and the rest to IMPA. Just a thought since they seem to be so popular.

Not yet, they may try to serve me in the US, if they can find me, they have an address in California.

Thanks for all the offers the site will go up in a few days but for now I'm going to start with some of the things we have.

Need to get this thing rolling and the money flowing.
