Everyone's a newbie in some area or some sense... high post counts mean nothing. Only newbies are impressed by that :winkwink:

like i said. who cares? just a silly message board.

I agree with you that most of this is one silly message board and hateful to boot. That's why I only check in once in awhile. Alot of us in this industry want information on Acacia and what might be happening and it's almost impossible to find when it's drowned out by what's popular. Obviously Lensman accepts the format, so I won't use this board for information as to things to promote in the future and where things are going. But, I will check in once in awhile like tonight when I want to fall prey to the board.

When you become adept at separating the wheat from the chaff, there is much information you can glean from this board.

It's multi faceted, this place. Personalities give GFY a heartbeat and a soul.

Not all of it is pretty.

If you want news, real news, you'll probably find it here.

Sometimes from newbs and sometimes from veterans.

This is not useless.

Most anything is some kind of learning experience.

Parts of this discussion reminds me of the debate about short icq numbers.

Looking at post count is like looking at the size of a woman's diamond ring.

Sometimes, you're dealing with large carat nouveau riche and sometimes you deal with old wealth small and top notch quality.

You just never know, until you stick around for a while and read between, above and below the lines.

Post counts on any message board have just about zero relationship to the experience level of the person. I suppose if Hefner, Flynt or Milton came on and had a post count of 1 they suddenly would be noobs?

Most successful people are too busy running their businesses to have a high post count.

When more than half the board whores here have posts consisting mostly of irrelevent waffle and newbie bashing there is little left that is worthwhile if you value your time on the planet, there may be a few regurgitated pearls in the mountain of crap they tend to spew but it's very rare.

g'day Ben

It is interesting this post was FINALLY made.

People should care. 5k post counts doesn't mean you are an expert. It means you are spending too much time on the board

:winkwink:

BTW .. I am a NewB :thumbsup

conan 11-27-2003 09:19 AM

post away, be proud of your count, help to make money for board's owners :1orglaugh

I guess people just react adversely to the term "newbie" like it's some sort of moral judgement. Nothing wrong with being new to something. Everyone has to start from somewhere.
