If you factor in that number it's still way too many US spammers.

Could it be because to many US citizens buy from Spam?

Pay attention, congress is about to pass a national bill that will overrule those laws and make it easier for bulk mailers. Responsible ones anyway, hopefully it should help weed out the really terrible spammers.

the US is the biggest at everything, of course we'd be the biggest spammers.. we're one of a handful of countries that even has the infrastructure to support the ammount of shit that flows through our inboxes on any given day.

It's because every 14 year old kid in the suburbs is spamming... or attempting to. The reason people in the US get the most spam is because the US is the only place with surfers that have credit cards... most international traffic isn't even accepted by most sponsors... porn or not.
