Photoshop VS Fireworks MX

Witch one is the best and why?

I really love the Macromedia MX serie, and I think I'll work only with Fireworks MX if it worth it!

why limit yourself to one tool? Use both and a few others.

Hands down, nothing beats Photoshop. It's the standard for a reason.

I try to use that same argument with the Mozilla & Opera people when discussion of IE pops up, but they refuse to accept it.

I've been using Fireworks since the first version came out...

When making web designs, I believe that the latest Fireworks version is as good as Photoshop - just a matter of habit... But for photo/image retouch, correction etc, there is only one Photoshop

i like photoshops interface the best, it has become the standard tool for design. every update that always add nice little things that help you do things easier or add on easier.

Wondering if this is more an argument between PCs and MACs.

The platform makes a world of a difference on evaluating the tools.

Oh, is Lars really gay? Seems to be spending a lot of time and $ trying to convince all that he's not. Well, that's a diffrent thread...

Ahh but Macromedia compresses images smaller than Photoshop!

I use both. Photoshop for design and Fireworks for animated gifs and compression!

Haha, i wondered when someone was going to mention that. Photoshop is great in many ways, MUCH more versatile than fireworks or anything else. But for some reason the people at adobe cant figure out how to do basic things right. Their jpeg compression just sucks, $500 and you have to buy another program for jpegs, crazy but true.
