Nothin sounds worse than live rap..
even rappers know that.. Why you think they cant sell out shows? CAUSE IT SOUNDS LIKE SHIT!!! Id much rather have ytcracker as the dj... Pay him to remix some songs..throw in some industry shit.. and i think you have a better solution than pouring money into naughty by nature.. remember who your target audience is!! http://www.awrats.com/images/dancingboy.gif (link hotten) I think there is about 3 black webmasters I know.. and they get hassled more at the door than the rest of us!! Also where is the venue this year? Id be interested in sponsoring something if you can send me details. |
naughty by nature would be cool. 50 cent wont be worth the $, he isnt even that good of a performer. obie trice should be pretty cheap for you.... i'm sure hes more expensive since his album but you should be able to get him pretty cheap. he puts on a good show too.

and what a Ball it will be, can't wait for it who ever
is the artist :winkwink: |
PussyCash will be the Official Big Woody Awards sponsor.
We've never been bought out before, can't wait to see who they pick as the winners. For those wanting a Big Woody Award for Pimp Of The Year, Player Of The Year, etc, better send some traffic to their program quick. They now have power of the penis. |
Heck maybe they will find my Big Woody from a few years ago : )
D$ looking foward to seeing you in Vegas and at the Players Ball ! |
Will be fun this year pimpelimp (aka D$)! :thumbsup
CYA there... I will buy the drinks for KB and Brad - and free lapdances for Jen! :winkwink: |
Oystein,
You party harder then almost anyone I know.. I tip my zipper to you... I remember the epoch days..you are da man! You rank up there with AGA, Slavik, and a few others I see at about 7 am..haha |
N.E.R.D would be out of control. The crowd would love them, and they have universal appeal.
The Roots would be another group with a universal appeal, and they can really get people into their sets...Fans or first timers. Obie would also be a nice fit for the event. Is WSC available for any touring? That would be a real nice show as well. |

I can't tell you the name of ANY of their songs, but I've seen them live 3 times, and THEY ROCK A PARTY!!!! No doubt! |
I guess it would be hard to make anything fly but hip hop.. it would be too expensive to get a good hard rock or alternative band I guess.
And there are lots of cheap has been rappers out there :-) |

This has nothing to do with Hip Hop, Rock, or Alternative music ... it is an economic issue above all else! I know for a fact D-Money paid Snoop close to 100k to appear at the Players Ball, and that was an incredible show!!! He hasn't put a DIME in his pocket from ANY Players Ball to date! Every Sponsor $$$ goes into the venue and the acts! The fact is, he wants to throw a party that webmasters will enjoy, and it seems like the economic enviornment is not allowing him to spend $$$ on artists like he did with Snoop! Give credit where credit is due ... the man is just trying to continue with what has been a HALLMARK event at Internext for many years! :2 cents: |
Naughty by Nature will give an incredible show! They are actually waaaay more entertaining than 50 Cent.
Ice Cube is another that has a show that's just out of control. When a artist has over 20 hits like he does the show is always pretty good. Public Enemy is another one. I'm not sure if Flav is out of jail though. NERD might do it for less than anyone else. They don't know to charge tons of money for shows like this yet so you guys might want to call Startrak and ask. |
im gonna lay it down proper i promise
thanks for all your support |
D,
I just want to say you're doing a good thing for the industry. I was in the online casino biz for 4 years, lived in the Caribbean for 2. So much money around and being spent. Then after a while it goes dry and you find out who's really down with the underground.I've been in this biz for 6 months and I have noticed the tailspin. We need to all stick together and reap the rewards of this great industry. Just like me in the online casino biz we thought we would last forever. Great times I had but the I am so happy i didn't keep(owned) anything. feds are going to all sites and portals and asking sales records dating back to 1997 on all online casinos tads hey had up on the site. Couple of my homies are fucked. They will be living in the caribbean now for life. As for me I'm a nobody who turns 30 Jan 2nd. I can't make it there in Jan.(money) but I god damn guantee I'll be there on the one after that. Keep doing what your doing, That one person who can make things happen will find you. Late-G bring No Limit to one of the balls. Silk, P, Magic, Soulia Slim,... |
Master P was in Oakland back in the day, be cool to hear him do a show ith only west coast flavor. I'm listening to 99 ways to die(93' 1st version) Now thats some ballers music. Tru shit.
|
Was at the party last year,, i had a blast,, get some upbeat rappers that'll get the crowd goin
I want to find out about sponsorship can you ICQ me? Tomorrow (wednesday) 201636447 or email me at vahe at Abyssent.com |

I realized after having Snoop Dogg perform, haters will never be happy. People actually tried to say it sucked. Anons mostly. So when people say washed up talent about certain performers in the past, present or future, I realize some people will hate no matter who you get. If I did rock, I'd have way more people telling me to book rap. At some point you have to just know from good live shows and what would be the most fun. I have a few tricks up my sleeve still. The thing that I find the coolest, is when people at the shows come up to me and thank me for doing these parties. I can't tell you how many times I hear, "best party I've ever been to" or "best concert I've ever seen". It's nice to know that thousands of webmasters have been totally stoked out through the years of throwing these. So once again, the big thanks in my book goes to the ones funding it, the sponsors. Epassporte helped me secure this years, I almost wasn't even able to pull it off without their early commitment. Pussycash stepped up right away as well. More are in the works, and those are some pimp ass players that deserve to have webmasters use their services. |

I'll probably get Too Short to come on the show. Maybe Treach, who knows. It's cool seeing the players peeps stepping it up in this thread. I know the supporters are out there, the haters are usually the more vocal ones. Nice to see more support then hate. |
I saw some people mentioning NERD...that would be fucking awesome!
I couldnt think of a better band/artist for that night. |

The Players Ball is and will always be a Rap/HipHop party...
If you want a House/Techno Party at Internext, go and organize it yourself ;) But get someone good like Paul Oakenfold... |
I know it's gonna remain rap-di-rap-crap.
That's why we're not going this year. Too many people anyways. |

D-money-$, do you have a clip from that show ?? |
D$, what about Sean Paul ??
|
I am surprised no one knows who Lil John and eastside boys are.
but basically you don't have to know who they are if you want the party started. They had just performed a halftime show during a falcons game and had the whole stadium getting crazy. They also performed the last song on the source award and it got wild also My suggestion is getting LUKE SKYWALKER and 2 LIVE Crew I mean there not as popular today so they would get the most bang for the buck.. there XXX rated shows are amazing. I saw them perform in a small club in Dallas one time. They even got a couple of girls from the audience get naked. it was wild |

click in the players ball link, I'm sure you'll find it. 2002 Players Ball I believe it was. And we're looking into Sean Paul waiting to hear back. If we raise enough, he's one that can happen as well. He normally wants around $50k. I think we can get it for $30k if he'll take the date. And we have an offer in on Oakenfold as well. So, tell a friend to sponsor the Ball, even if it's just a $100 sponsorship. In numbers we trust! I'll keep everyone posted as we learn more. |
Oakenfold? What happened to the no techno stand?

100 grand for either Snoop or Fiddy. Thats ridiculous !!
NERD aren't going to be cheap, but they'd be cool. Cyprus Hill would be fantastic. Christ, from what your saying you could get NERD, Shaun Paul and Cyprus Hill for the price of just one the other two Cats. Now that would be a performance :thumbsup |
100 ballers

I'm looking to please the masses, so since Naughty By Nature is locked in, now I can balance the force and get a great performer that fits the budget. Usually, hop hop / rap is simpler and easier. Oakenfold is coming from the UK, makes it harder to book. He was getting $20k per show, and probably gets more. I put in an offer at $10k, if he's in the States and wants to party, we can get him. But unlikely. I am trying though. We can do rave type DJ's, as long as we have the meat of the show covered, like a good danceable group. The rest is gravy. I'm stereo typed as only hip hop, but I try for the best available artist everytime. I can get members of Korn to host the event as well, but to perform, they'd be over $100k, easy. I've been trying for Lenny Kravitz too. All kinds of music, not just rap, or peeps without instruments. It's like destiny, it's destined to be who it is everytime. |
Sounds Cool D$...
keep up the good work |
Here are some fun moments from Players Ball past. Doesn't include Snoop, Xzibit and a ton of other big namers, but you'll recognize many in these clips. And the house is always rocking. The footage doesn't lie.
