You send x amount of signups.

Sponsor credits you with x * n amount of signups,
where n = percentage of signups they will credit you with.

Ex.)

x = 15 signups sent
n = 80%

shave = 15 * 80% = 12 signups credited

CCbill shaves bad, maybe not deliberately, but the tracking methods they use are totally out-of-date and so unreliable that you're probably loosing ~30% of your traffic when promoting something ccbill. One can only imagine how many sales you loose ;)

Some programs make up for that by paying you 70% instead of the 50% most programs pay and I strongly suggest that if you don't want to fell cheated, don't use a ccbill program paying less than 60% AND that covers all processing fees. Why? Because you're actually GIVING the program owner approx 30% of all you sales.

Wow, you're stupid.

Just came across this thread looking for something else. But, just wanted to add that I know for a fact, http://www.lightspeedcash.com does not shave!

Also, read the comment about ARS....I know, I've gotten 1/60 with them

AphEX 11-30-2003 12:51 AM

we dont shave
neXpectation

gin 11-30-2003 12:55 AM

don't you get it already? it's not shaving.. it's selective sign ups.. no credit for checks .. no credit for phone 2 enter.. no credit for popups.. then cookie tracking so there goes another about 10%.. or redirecting all foreign traffic to dialers.. so it's not called "shaving" it's selective sign ups.. and most do it

Paul Markham 11-30-2003 12:55 AM

The only way to do this is by the number of hours/ moneyspent and the money you get back. You can sign up to a crappy program that pays little and shave nothing and you earn nothing.

Or a good paying program, awesome sites, good pay outs, great conversion, but pays for all that by shaving you. But in the end you earn more money.

3rd party processors can be a problem, nothing is to stop them shaving or losing where the sign up came from. Funny how the software loses where the guy came from but not the sign up. Guess it's not in their interest to get it right.

Bottom line is, the money that goes into your pocket.

50 non-shaving sponsors

Paul Markham 11-30-2003 12:59 AM

Also remember if someone can make a "Business Decision" to license with someone who is trying to arse rape the rest of the industry. How hard is it for them to think about shaving as a "Business Decision".

Morals, ethics and a sense of what is right is the only thing that stops someone from shaving.

BluMedia 11-30-2003 01:00 AM

We have never shaved. Webmasters are the most important roll in our business and it makes no sense to fuck them in anyway. You want to keep them happy not fuck them so they promote someone else.

We give credit for all webmaster signups including checks, dialers etc. We also have NO entry consoles, this is where alot of webmasters lose traffic and money. We have 1-2 exit consoles the first console having mostly links where our webmasters still get credit for signups. We also let our webmasters do test signups at anytime.

Theft is theft, I can not understand those defending crime? But sooner or later, it will hit back.

At AFF I got the very same conversion ratio four years in a row.

And why using ccbill should make shaving impossible, I just do not understand? If you are the sponsor, just delete (manipulate) the affiliate code before sending the surfer to ccbill??
ccbill will know nothing about it. You will get the full amount, the affiliate nothing and the surfer is happy.

Hopefully I think that the solution to stop this theft are just around the corner. I is against the law to help a thief as well. Selling programs with built in stealing possibilities I mean.

well, actually I have a pretty good system in place, and think I can safely say that Flynt Digital does not shave.

The Lone Ranger and Tonto were riding on the range one day. The two came to a stop, where Tonto jumped off his horse and put his head on the ground to listen to see if anyone was coming.After a few seconds he rose and said "Buffalo come."<br>The Lone Ranger was amazed and proclaimed "Damn you Indians are smart, how the hell did you know there were buffaloes coming?"<br>Tonto replied, "Face sticky."
