OMG Papa Johns Managers Are Fucking Idiots

We order a pizza about once a week from Papa Johns...and weordered a pizza last week and all we want is just pepperoni on one and mushrooms on the other.

Anyway the girl running the phones tells me they have a special ..buy The works pizza and a large 2 topping pizza for free and just take everything off of the works pizza except the mushroom and cheese.

So now here it is like a week and a half later and I call and they have the same special but the manager tells me she cannot take everything off of the works pizza except the mushrooms and cheese...she won't do it because it "costs more."

I tell her after like 5 minutes of discussion that her attitude is getting ready to cost her much more than the ingredients on this one pizza...that I am ready to hang up and I will never use them again.

Not only that but I will make a complaint with their formal office...she basically tells me "whatever," and gives me the number.

I managed for Taco Bell for 7 years...I would never have ever in my tenure there dreamed of treating a customer that way.

I would have never in my tenure there dreamed of telling a customer I would not remove items or ingredients from their order.

If I had, I would have received a swift ass kicking from the area supervisor...no shit.

What is this world coming to? No one knows what customer service is anymore.

I would end up giving the customers whatever they wanted just because I wouldn't want to waste my time and energy arguing with them. Not sure if that's good or bad...

I didn't go to my favorite mexican cafe back in Texas for over a year because of a waitress and when I did finally return the owner who I knew on a first name basis treated me like a king from then on.

One thing that was ingrained into us as managers at Taco Bell was the worth of a customer over a lifetime vs the cost of going that extra mile on that visit.

I also learned that customers rarely ever told friends and family of good experiences, but always spoke about the bad ones.

Even if the store lost 50 cents on a deal, who cares? They gain a customer thinking "wow this place gives me exactly what I want, I'll go back!" Shit we order pizza at least once a week. Have me as a loyal customer and you'll have a lot of money in your pocket.

I don't know much about the food business, especially the training involved, but maybe the managers have never had any business training?

It takes time to chisel the 'works' part off of those frozen pizzas!! Hence the extra cost. lol Their pizza is terrible here. Pizza Hut! Donato's!, Masseys! THAT is pizza.

You have the right idea man and I seriously did this at all my stores.

One of my duties was taking on troubled stores and getting them back into shape.

One in particular was doing about $12K a week and was receiving all kinds of complaints.

My first couple of months in there I was giving away $10-$20 orders right and left because of simple mess ups until I could get a properly trained staff in there.

Alot of people took advantage of that and called in bogus complaints to get free food from me.

But after I got that store into shape those calls pretty much ceased..the cheating ones that is..and the mistakes didn't cost as much and by the time I left after 1 year the store was doing over $22K a week and it was the #1 store in growth for all the periods while I was there.

Pizzahut has a VIP club ya kno'. ;-) Go to their site and join... you gets free pizzas and gets to order online and all sorts of goodies from time to time. Coupons too! ;-) Ordering online is great. And they usually beat their time quoted on the site.

What do you not understand about removing items from the works pizza?

For you and the papa john's pizza manager it may very well be rocket science but for the rest of us it's just making a pizza.

Wow folks looks like we finally found someone who isn't even qualified to work in fast food on GFY.
