i happen to not be in U.S.A and i happen to get you channels on sattelite, so im vey well informed of what your news reporters report. And im also informed on the slant they put on things just as U.S.A. does on stories as well.

The difference between US TV news and European TV news:

* The US TV stations are based on selling commercials <=> The European TV stations are often paid for by yearly fees that all with a telly have to pay.

* US TV therefore has to give the viewers tons of "Breaking News", "This just in", "Live from Baghdad" in order to hold the fickle interest of the viewers <=> European TV can take its time to tell the whole story, even if it takes one hour or more - without ad breaks.

Well...I saw an hour long report a week or so ago that basically...took one on a tour around Baghdad. There was traffic on the streets...many expensive cars...the outdoor shops were overloaded with food...of all types...the stores were open...and many of them had quality jewerly...quality western apparrel...appliances etc...and the reporter stopped in a Juice cafe and had a Juice prepared and the Juice cafe seemed to be doing a good business. All of the Iraqi's in the shops and on the streets were openly friendly...all were well dressed and appeared to be quite well fed. The only concern they expressed to the reporter was the criminal element that was on the loose and many of them either stayed the night or had someone stay the night in their businesses to guard against the criminal element. The damage around Baghdad was minimal in the sense that the majority of buildings...stores...etc. were in tact. Bottom line Baghdad appeared to be alive...and thriving.

You should call the CIA NOW and give them that info... They were under the impression that it was Saudis...
