It was absolutely the most planned shock-value spectacle since the britney kiss. As effective as a good McDonalds commercial.
It's genius. Such publicity. I wonder how many people are going to watch the halftime show next year? LOTS.
And all they had to do was respond to the complaints with something like:
"No, Mr. Smith, I'm sorry it offended you but honestly we're not sure what happened. You know how it is with these drug fiends - they get crazed ideas when the big lights shine into their eyes. Yes, I agree it was disgusting sir, Hell they probably don't even believe in Jesus."
Advertising rates skyrocket and a dying star Janet Jackson gets a few more minutes of fame. As HST said, "It's the American Dream in action".
