Let me repeat... A 120 x 60 button and no more that 3 lines of DEFAULT SIZE AND COLOR text.

see, i feel like i killed off a noticible percentage of bookmarker traffic from one of my sites by adding too many popups, but my friend said if popups bothered people they would get a blocker. i dont think thats the case.

i think people are still sensitive to popups and if you overdo it you will still scare them away just like in the days before popup blockers. so i guess nothing has changed in eight years.

Im thinkin more people than you realize have popup blockers, theres lots of computer nerds, every computer nerd I know has popup blockers, then theres the AOL, Compuserv, Earthlink, etc users that software comes with pop blockers now, then theres the percent that go out of their way to get a pop blocker, then theres those who use mozilla, opera, etc w/ popup blockers, then theres those who get the google bar Dunno a percent tho..

Opera 7.23 is doing damn good so far, I am loving it, except for the fact that it doesn't show border=1 well with colored borders, it outlines alot of tables and makes them look ugly as hell and it doesn't handle colored form tables too well or colored buttons to well either. I guess these are all IE options Other then that its fast as fuck and stable as hell

well for one thing popups have proven to be a very profitable part of adagency's income and if IE comes out with that they will really make a lot of companies go down.

I think it's less than 5% right now but I bet in two years it'll be 50%+.

Popups are good if used right but alot of sites overdo it.
If someone clicks an ad and gets bitchslapped with 20 popups he won't click an ad anytime soon.
With the popup blocker they know they won't get slammed with popups so they might click more ads.

I have a page that has recievd 4307 uniques in 2 days with 1 popunder on it but the popunder has only recieved 1018 uniques.

All earthlink users have a blocker and allmost every toolbar available from google to alexa and allmost all others I have seen have them. I think 5% is way to low I would say more like 15 possibly even as high as 20 with u.s and canada users.

i think it depends on where your traffic comes from. seems like a fair amount more than 5% of our google traffic is blocking popups.

The percentage is definitely rising. Its going to explode once the first version of Microsoft's built in popup blocker for IE hits the Net. The big question is whether it will be turned on as a default setting.

it will be set "off" i'm sure, which is actually great news. now only idiots will browse with popups on, and idiots are exactly the ones who respond to pop-ups as it is. so now you exploit the neophytes, and no longer alienate the increasingly growing number of savvy computer users (esp the ones who use credit cards).

Popups are out of control. The majority of sponsors these days pop off a chain of 5 - 6 consoles when the surfer trys to leave. I'd say 20 - 30% is a reasonable estimate of people using popup blockers.
