well man, I gotta say that's one of the most fucked up things I've heard in a while...
but I can kinda relate...
I'm white, my grandfather was white, and he refused to even get to know me because he never 'accepted' my father's choice in women. Mom happened to be from the wrong side of the blvd and her family was not in the society 'blue book' as was my father's - he was a racist snob from hell...
I met him twice in my life, once as a kid that I don't remember, another time right before I went in the USAF...
all I can offer is this...
1) you can choose to hold onto the pain, or let it go...
and
2) if you choose to keep the pain you can also choose to do great things with that pain....pain is a bitchen motivator...today I look at as a gift...but that is 'my' choice...
still, a very fucked up thing to say and sorry to hear that your kid had to deal with that, it sucks for sure :/
do the right thing, and explain it as best you can...kids are AMAZINGLY brighter than what most adults give them credit for...Investor with 5m - 15m USD to invest. 1) Why are you not agreeing with me instead of fighting me on this issue if you feel the same way? My 3 year old daughter was the one being attacked!Originally posted by Odin88
1) Although I don't have any children I would feel similar to how I would about any physical or verbal attack on anyone in my family - brother, sister, mother, father.
2) I doubt you could 'whip' my ass. You may like talk yourself up, but you don't strike me as a physically powerful man.
3) If you did physically attack him, you would show him what a '******' really is. Afterall, I am sure that is part of his belief's about what a '******' would do.
2) Trust me I could! Second degree black belt in Kenpo and 1st degree in Tae Kwon Do...22 years of studying martial arts!
3) Yes, it would be showing him what a ****** would do and I would resort to being a ****** to protect my family!Coming Soon! A NEW revolution in black adult social networking!Comment

I don't understand your culture, then. I was in England for like 2 weeks and no one called me "******" nor did I here it being referenced to any other black person. Maybe I was sheltered but I did the tourist thing and didn't here it anywhere.Originally posted by TrueBucks
It's your stupid American culture.
We call ****** a "******" without any offensive meaning - "******" means "black" and nothing else.
If your nation considers this word as offensive than it may consider as offensive "white" too!
Maybe I'm wrong but I think that it is stupid to think so!
However, if it is offensive in your local - he is a bad man - your father-in-law! You should explain your child that he is mistaking and that she is an absolutely normal child. And you must talk to your father-in-law. In our country he'd be beated for offensiveness to his grandchild!Coming Soon! A NEW revolution in black adult social networking!Comment

1) And one of your first reactions was to want to physically attack him. It is a weak reaction really, one which represents a challenged mind.1) Why are you not agreeing with me instead of fighting me on this issue if you feel the same way? My 3 year old daughter was the one being attacked!
2) I've boxed semi-professional for almost 5 yrs (since 14) - but I seriously don't care. I used to try and be the hard man and pick fights, but I think a smart man grows out of that shit.
3) You would be showing him that you lack the capacity to think in any other terms than physical. You punching him, or wrecking his shit would only make things worse for both you, and your daughter.Comment

1) You're definitely NOT a parent!! You see, any parent's first reaction to harming of their child is to fight! Every member of the animal kingdom, including humans, has this instinct! When you get a kid, you'll understand.Originally posted by Odin88

Listen, I have had people threaten my younger sister and I ofcourse have had the same instinct. But you have to realise this is the childs grandfather, not some cracka on the street. You can't sort this shit out by throwing punches, or bricks, you will only fuck up any prospect of a relationship between your daughter and her grandfather. Think sometihng through for once in your life.1) You're definitely NOT a parent!! You see, any parent's first reaction to harming of their child is to fight! It is simple...he will never see his grandchildren EVER again.
Sometimes in life people do not get second chances....this should be one of them.....you can never trust him around your children ever again.
Remeber just how damaging one comment like that can be from an adult to a child.

Listen! If I hadn't thought it through, he'd been a dead grandfather! Listen 19 year old kiddo, you know nothing of life yet and when you become a parent, you'll get the protection factor that all parents have! Younger sister protection is ok but nothing like the parent thing.Originally posted by Odin88

I live in a very racially mixed area of London and I have never heard the word in any way but a negative context. Also, everyone I know over here knows exactly the baggage the word means. There are similar words used over here to describe different races and every one of them is considered by the public at large - atleast the public I know and it is portayed simiarly in the media -to be higly offensive.Originally posted by TrueBucks

As you might or might not know, I'm a brotha married to a white lady. We have 6 kids together. Well, last night, my kids were at my father-in-law visiting and somehow or another, that old bastard came off and called my 3 year old daughter a ******! How the fuck do you explain to a 3 year old what a ****** is??? What the fuck do I do to him? I know that my kids are going to face all kinds of prejudices but for a 3 year old to have to face it so soon in life is just wrong! WHAT DO I DO????????????

Oh sorry Mr big time parent. Faggot here is a little notice for you, I have probablly experienced more to real 'life' (and this does not involving bitching over a word) than you ever had. Black people can't resort to violence to deal with even this kind of shitty behavior. If we did, we'd be in fist fights every day. I live in Toronto, and my white friends FREAK OUT when they hang out with me for a whole day cause they can't believe how I get treated.
I've grown accustomed to being the better person.
Also, piss in his apple juice.Comment

I think that is an awefull thing for him to say, But I recomend the high road.....just supervise all visits to their house from now on, and if anyone asks just tell them the reason and that it is your final decision....the reason I say supervised visits is because if you say they connot visit their grandparents house you will only hurt the children.....so just supervise from now on. And I am sorry to hear that they are soo closed minded.Comment

What do you do? Well, you show both your father-in-law and especially your daughter what a real man is like.
It is so sad that your daughter would have to experience this at all, let alone at such a tender age. She is far too young to understand anything to complex so perhaps it is best to just explain to her that sometimes when people do not understand or get upset that they say mean things, and that word is something very mean. That even though people get upset, not matter how upset they are they should not say mean things, but sometimes they do.
As for your father-in-law if you think a face to face discussion might be too confrontational call him. Refuse to raise your voice or become angry. Simply tell him that the world is a tough place and that family is extremely important to children and they should be able to consider it a safe haven from the cruelties of the world. Tell him everyone makes mistakes and you are 100% confident (even though you probably aren't) that is was a slip of the tongue that he deeply regrets. Tell him you just want him to know that you know it occured, and to reinforce that it will NEVER happen again because that little girl is HIS flesh and blood too and it is HIS job to help protect her and be there for her, not to destroy her.
If you can't do it without becoming angry, write him a letter or email him.Comment

Are you calling yourself a faggot or me? If that word is directed to me, I guess my wife Carla and my children Courtney, Megan, Britney, John Keith, Matthew and Theresa would say differently! You have no clue of what the real world is. You wanna know what is? It's dealing with freaks and geeks and assholes who look at the color of my children and judge them for having a little tent to their color although 3 of them have blonde hair and blue eyes. The real world is taking 6 mixed kids to McDonald's and having people stare at them for not being white and not being black. The real world is your neighbors not wanting to let their kids play with yours b/c their not "the same". When you get a taste of the real world, give me a shout. We'll go do lunch!Originally posted by Odin88

Quit this whining it is so typical, 'its racism its racism'. You want to know what the real world is faggot (yes that was directed at you) it is a White farmer getting dragged behind a car dead from his farm in Zimbabwe, it is the White child getting brutally raped and killed in South Africa, that is the real world. Are you calling yourself a faggot or me? If that word is directed to me, I guess my wife Carla and my children Courtney, Megan, Britney, John Keith, Matthew and Theresa would say differently! You have no clue of what the real world is. Your little fantasies about not being the same are insignificant when compared to what the real world has to offer. You little bitches are all the same, complain about the evil White man, and yet fail to look at your own fallacies.
The genocide of Zimbabwe is almost complete, South Africa has already begun (yes, I bet you didn't know they are already invading farms there?), and yet all you seem to want to do is point the finger at the White devil.
You think being looked at funny because you are 'different' is part of the 'real world'? Grow up. The real world is when someone is killed for being different. The real world is when you are shot in front of your family, dragged behind a car, just before your family is ordered to leave or die.
Of course these scenarios are not exclusively related to Whites, but since you like to pull the little White oppressor trick I thought you could do with a lesson. Save the story next time you get looked at funny dickhead.
And as for me personally knowing what the real world is, let me say that if the best you can do is being looked at funny - I am sure I have a greater knowledge than yourself as to what the real world is.Comment

Question... I do not mean any offense.. but would like to ask if any of your children came out as white as Michael Jacksons kids did... Me and my GF are arguing about if he is really the father ot not... I say no... the kids are to white... especially the oldest boy... granted, never seen the entire face... but from what I have seen, there is not a trace of black in that (or any of his) child.
Again, I mean no offense...

No offense taken Bro. Well, let's see. My first daughter (the oldest) is light brown skinned with long black kinky hair. My second daughter is long silky hair (not kinky at all) and very fair complexioned. Then, my next daughter is BLONDE HAIR AND BLUE EYES. She has her mother's skin tone and her hair is kinky but it's blonde. My son is the same way...blonde kinky hair and blue eyes. My next son is back to wavy silky black hair with green eyes. Then, my baby daughter (the one that was called that) is blonde silky hair and blue eyes. So, I got my own little rainbow here. LOL! They are all gorgeous kids.Coming Soon!
