Not propaganda driven in the least. The US does not need to know...with any great degree of accuaracy...the technology behind China's military. They worse case it...just as we now know they did with the Soviet Union...and as they apparently did with Iraq.

The US has the capacity to invade China (I can only visualize this happening under certain circumstances, as the land mass and population is to large) and China simply put cannot reciprocate. We can project our military power (land,sea, and air) into their theater and simply put China cannot project its military power into our theater...other than via ICBM's...and the last count I recall is that they have something under 30 ICBM's. That does not exactly constitute a rain of missile's.

China is...for all practical purposes...currently pacified...as they cannot project military power globally...only within their AO...which is limited. We would never engage in a land war within China...unless internal rest within China presented the opportunity. All that has to be accomplished is to limit their ability to project military power.

All the USA vs China talk is rather pointless since there are no major conflicts now, and I can't see any in the near future that would bring the two countries to war with eachother.

The US might not like China to make a move on Taiwan, but the US is unlikely to take any military action against China because China is a significant military power itself and the issue of Taiwan independence isn't worth the huge cost of American lives and dollars that it would require to be at war with China.

Every day, China is more and more a friend of America than an enemy. Iran, Syria, and N.Korea are much more realistic targets for war with America in the near future.
