You guys seem to surprised that a sponsor is stealing traffic. Why, because they run a message board? :1orglaugh
If you're going to be an affiliate of almost any adult program get used to being fucked over on a daily basis. |

Links here are still wonky as hell.

Always amazes me that anyone is stupid enough to redirect UK traffic. The dialler payouts for UK may be high but UK surfers also have credit cards and use them far more than they'll dial into a £2 a min service.

Lets hope it won't get ruined by slapping them with 10 dialer windows everytime they click an ad. |

I just tried with en-us, en-gb, sv, de and couple of other languages and no problems.
I tried through a Chinese, Dutch, UK, Brazil and Swedish proxy and no problems. $2 that you got hit by the new Internet Explorer vulnerability and a new spyware got installed that Ad-Aware on those haven't found out about yet. |

Someone should contact the dialers or do some research and try to find out who's getting paid on the redirected traffic.
I'm sure that won't be easy. :) |

I installed a Deltino (The netpond dialer / run by Meat/Aga) dialer to examine how it interacts with the surfer. (its a nasty bitch that disables ctrl+alt+del :(). I have had some other UK friends test the links, and they do not get redirected. Friends who did not install a Deltino/Netpond dialer. I propose that those people getting redirected, have at one time installed a Netpond dialer. Netpond dialer is now redirecting Lensman's traffic for him. :2 cents: |

ok so when whatever can't tell where I am from using an anonymous proxy with approx 50-70 clicks to different sites 1 redirect to a different page than either of the 2 that I have had come up so far

I'm using a "fully patched" version of IE, with no adaware found spyware, and i get redirected. In Opera, i don't get redirected. |

Post the url that you get redirected to.

As I said I don't get redirected and geo stuff usually redirects me with no trouble because the peopl running it don't appreciate the true value of uk traffic.
Has to be spyware crap. I presume you've checked your hosts file? |
My icq is 41012160.
Lensman - the url contains hex encoded chars that'll probaby fubar the link. So i put it in a text file: http://gibhar.com/richard/link4lens.txt |

OK, figured it out. We put up the ADS dialer a couple of days ago, and one of our guys put a language redirector for inbound traffic on one of the servers. It' supposed to only be on exits. The good news is that it was only on one of the three gateway servers, so most traffic was not effected.
It's fixed. Great catch chemicaleyes. It had us fooled, because the one guy in our office who did it didn't synch the other servers to it. |

Its a common trick i have noticed lately with dialers that do the geo redirecting themselves. They like to slip some past from normal areas and sludge the traffic. Then they sell off the dialer popup's to hijack the browser to a third party to boot.
I noticed this on a bunch of other sponsors lately as well. I wouldnt let the dialers have control unless your monitoring them closely. Tip#1 dont let someone else control your traffic unless your in on the code. Tip#2 watch them like hawks. Im not dissing your sponsor lens , but i have noticed this problem with other sponsors. Suddenly canadians and brits and australians will be redirected for no reason. Its almost like they are doing it on purpose because they know the people checking will be doing it from the usa. Hell it could just be an honest mistake that i happened to notice on 3 seperate sponsors :) But it seems very suspicious. Like if i cut a deal with you to redirect your traffic that you cant process anyways thru cc card for a certain cut. Who is to say i dont add some ip ranges from good areas to boost my traffic/sales. How would you know ? You wouldnt . Until people started noticing it. With all the hijacking going on , most sponsors might just figure its a hijack or a fluke. And surfers wont know the difference , the only people who would complain is webmasters who are checking links. Again it doesnt affect everyone so just a small percentage of people get ripped and dont realise it, or write it off as an error , come back 2 days later and it works again so they dont bother complaining. Just my opinion though and no particular slant against ads |
all good here (greece)

Well said dude :thumbsup
