there's been ads on gfy since day one. I dont' question that, Lens deserves revenue from this.

but microsoft took a similar line of thinking in the past when they decided that they would highlight particular words on people's webpages and hot link them to advertisers of their choosing. That idea was shot down and caused HUGE outcry for basically the SAME REASON I'm complaining about this. it's one thing to advertise, it's another to ASSUME someone's endorsement WITHOUT that person's concent.


microsoft and yahoo do not, in the MIDDLE of your email, try and confuse the reader into believing you endorsed something that in fact you didn't endorse.

Wow, that was a ton of reading for a saturday morning visit to gfy. I'm not quite sure what to make of this yet, but I'm definately leaning towards Sleazys side. I feel violated for sure. It gives the impression that you promote and endorse a company that you don't. Also in this particular ad, it's a dialer, and Dialers are evil to begin with, and I for 1 will never promote a dialer. Uhm.. Not to jump into anything but Lensman stated he allows signature to be bought. Sleazy also chooses to promote Boobiebucks and he likely reviewed the company and their ethics, etc. beforehand (or already knew them).

Oh.. and your Lensman deserves to make money.. He already makes money.. $60k US per month from the banners currently in rotation. So that argument goes out the window. :)
