Well if you won't post it I can't help you.

Well it depends which parts are fake, and what country they were faked in, and the reason you want to give as to why they faked it..

ICANN is the best place to report it.

http://www.internic.com and use their form... they will get it to the right place if they don't directly deal with the country in question. But Internic IS directly associated with ICANN so they can deal with most any domain set.

I disagree with this, altho the info should be there it doesnt mean you should report it.
If you have a seriously valid reason to obtain this info id agree with what your doing, but it seems like your doing it cause you aint got nothing else to do then try and figure out someone elses shit..
You may very well be fucking someone up good and for what?
Cause you need to know?

You may very well be f*cking someone up good and for what?...
----------------------

Play by the rules or get out of the game is enough reason. Ask yourself this... why or what are they hiding?

If its just a site with someones home videos is one thing...

If they are trying to make money then they by ALL means we should be able to see who they are. Thieves hide.

But the rules say correct info for ALL domains. Don't like that? Talk to the ones making the rules. Or get out of business online.

For every one of these idiots that rip someone off, then we all suffer for it... the surfers are then afraid to buy ANYthing.

Do you see sponsors hiding?

Dear Ruleboy. There are numerous reasons why a person might not want their identity known and many of them don't involve thieving. For example, a webmaster be trying to hide from Acacia, or an amateur girl could be hiding from potential stalkers, or a hobbiest might be trying to protect their day job. If you think it is wrong to bend the "rules" under circumstances like these then I think that you are a self-righteous asshole

that's the *simple* way of looking at it but when you have jackasses compaining about whois info for no reason, it causes businesses trouble.
We once had a phone number on a domain that was no longer forwarding to us because of a technical glitch.
Some assclown reported that we had an invalid phone number so we almost lost the domain.
Email worked, address was real. Almost lost it because some fucking newbie trouble maker thought he should report it as bad whois info.

Mind your own business.
If someone is out there scamming, its a whole other story.

I agree, this is absolute bs. When I made that post about AIM spammers a couple of weeks ago, I had a member of THIS BOARD pop up and tell me he was on the phone with ICANN reporting my 'bogus whois' on sponsor specs!
He went on about how they'de have me shut down and he'd be the new owner within 5 days etc etc.
Its none of your business what someone else has on their whois and being a snitch shows your true colors.

btw notice I'm still owner of my domain

That s*cks 12clicks. Seriously. And its not how ICANN says its supposed to be since things like that happen.

We've had similar problems thru the years as both of us has owned our own businesses since the mid to late 70's.

The hubby had his contractor insurance and bonds pulled once from a competitor calling the insurance company and saying that the hubby had never BEEN a contractor before the day he got the bonds etc. (Even though they had information saying he HAD been)
----------------------------

What jerks my chain is when people have the majority or ALL the info faked.

If you have the need to cover your info then do it legally...
You walk into the bank with a company name thought up, open an account, get checks, then off to the PO or Mailboxes R Us and get a PO Box.
No incorporation fees or anything. A simple sole proprietorship. POOF!
You no longer are on the WhoIs and legal to boot.

OR, use one of the proxy sites etc that offer to cover your info.

Our local ISP's allow you to put their info on the domains. Anyone using a local ISP can call them and check to see if theirs does that too.

There is NO valid reason to hide via faked info.

People lying just increases the scrutiny on ALL of us. So expect them to ratchet down on us even more in the future as long as this practice continues.

Just like the spammers make surfers think we ALL spam,

I didn't know it was against the rules to have
"fake" WhoIs info...?? Why should anyone be able to look up my private info? I don't even have my phone number published in the phone book much less want my real name and address polluted on the internet. If it's an illegal site, let an attorney subpoena their info for civil matters or go to the police for other illegal activities... but don't go invading people's privacy. I'd sooner quit this biz than put my real info on Whois.
