Analyze This sucked (or at least wasn't very good) and really wasn't much of a gangster movie.

The Whole Nine Yards was an amusing movie but also not much of a gangster flick. If you're going to include this movie you may as well include My Blue Heaven and The Godson.

I don't care for Menace II Society or Reservoir Dogs. I know that's almost sacrilege because everyone thinks Reservoir Dogs was so great but I didn't care for it. In fairness, I only saw it once. I plan to pop it in the VCR for a second viewing some day.

I would replace some of those with movies like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and possibly even Snatch, although Snatch is more of a heist movie than a gangster movie.

I am sure I could think of a lot more good gangster movies if I gave it some thought.

I was trying to hit 20, and the last 3 were all comedies with a Gangster "element" that fit the bill. Analyze This was definately a gangster movie though ... and fuckin' funny! DeNiro is THE SHIT!!!

No doubt - Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels was a great movie as well as Snatch!!!

It's pushing things a bit to call that a gangster movie but it was a great picture. The whole bit with Charles Grodin being afraid to fly is priceless and the look Grodin's character gives DeNiro's character when they almost run head-on into that truck makes me just about wet my pants every time. Two thumbs up for Midnight Run.

It's weird that Grodin went on to be a stodgy old man who hosts late-night talk shows. He's awesome in comedic roles.

Nice list.
Side note on "A bronx tale", Lillo Brancatto Jr., Played C, was born raised, and still lives in Yonkers NY . We were friends growing up. He has made a few movies and was also on Sapranos, till he got wacked.

I still have that book. I read it every year or two. Breslin's characters are great. I often find myself thinking of Big Jelly because he's big and lecherous, just like me

nobody will give you this one, the gangster comedy 'Johnny Dangerously' starring Michael Keaton and Joe Piscopo. It bombed
horribly but there are parts of that movie that are pee your pants funny, the guy who played the little greaseball mob boss.

I still call people 'fargin bastages' - just that puts it on the list.

GREAT PICS!!! I love it!!! Got this one??

This one has their autographs AND their "AKAs" (character names)....there are tons and tons of the ones that are just autographed without the AKAs. I even have pictures of them signing the thing:

A gangster movie that I liked that doesn't get mentioned much is 'Bound"

It was the Wachoawski Bros. before Matrix. Also it has Gina Gershon and Jennifer Tilly doing the squelchy together, so that's a plus.

It's a combo gangster/Film Noir with lesbians. Well crafted.

I could get real old school gangsta, Gangs of New York.

Whats up Stylee!

I've been away too long from these parts. Europe was fun.

Great list of gangster movies, pretty much covers all of them. I'm waiting for Jstyles sales pitch, buy the top 20 gangsta DVD's through the Netflix of porn!

I'd buy a package.

Anyway, how the hell have you been J$tyle$! Come on the live radio show today, haven't done one in over 5 or 6 weeks.

Good ones Mutt!

Bonnie & Clyde and the Pope of Greenwich Village belong on my list FOR SURE!!!

... and the Warriors, damn - I remember being a little kid and wanting to go see that in the movie theatres SO BAD!

There were all kinds of reports in the news at the time about fights breaking out at shows in NY, people geting stabbed and shot - and my mother refused to take me or let me go with anyone else!

2 of the best scenes ever ...

The one in Gramercy Park when all the gangs congregated to form an alliance ...

"The Warriors did it! They shot Cyrus!"

... and that fuckin' same freak clangin' the bottles ...

"Warriors, come out and playeeeeaaaaa!"

This one has their autographs AND their "AKAs" (character names)....there are tons and tons of the ones that are just autographed without the AKAs. I even have pictures of them signing the thing:
