Wondering if any sponsor has tried this. A temp 5 minutes pass for a surfer to look around the site, then - 5 minutes after a time triggered join page to appear...

The logins can be bandwidth limited, like...only thumbs, no full pics...no videos. I think the surfers are tired from tours only.
This option can be offered for USA traffic only to save on bandwidth...

...Just a thought

Jez, I would think that would scare them away for sure! heh. I would think for some sponsors they know their members area sucks and wouldn't dare take that chance.

On the other hand, if you did have a nice amount of content and had a great retention ratio, it may be something for a test. On the other hand, isn't that what join4free is kinda doing?

I never said that CC's were a means of age verification.

There are other ways to invole the age verification process in AkiraSS's idea.

Does clicking on a link that says you are over 18 ( or 21) work? and is it legally binding?

Are digital signatures legally binding?

Age verification is going to start becoming more of an issue than it ever has before in the near future.

That is my point...it isn't...however there is a Legally binding digital signature process available.

the way i understand it
for digital signature to work you need to have one of those devices similar to the ones in some stores that you sign with a stylus. it's not just typing your name in a text field. but i may be wrong

at any rate do you even think all the horny shmucks would care? they click YES and enter anyways.
