These kind of things should be in your article since a lot of newbies who I know that tried the PPC game got out in frustration for the above reasons.

You should also mention that most natural SEO's (if you outsource, as per your $500 example), do charge maintenence contracts. So the entire deal is not usually just $500 but involves an ongoing fee to maintain those listings.

Apart than this, your article sounds great, gives a cost/benefit analysis of both types of SE's and the market place which is a good coverage. I just think a bit more coverage should be added to not encourage people blindly.
