I don't RUB it, per se. I just toss some on either side grill it.
Use proportionate amounts to your steak. For example, if you're grilling an 8 ounce cut, don't use enough to cover a 16 oz.
For a 16 oz steak:
1 TBSP cinnamon
1 TBSP black pepper (omit if desired, some like it, some don't)
1 tsp garlic powder (milder flavor) or 1 tsp garlic oil (yikes! Vampires won't come near you for centuries....matter of fact, no one else will, either)
salt to taste
Apply to the steak, both front and back and let "rest" for a half an hour before grilling to taste. Add slices of red onion rings and a dash of ground nutmeg or ground cloves five minutes before serving.Comment
