Unless you really REALLY need something itty bitty, get the 600m.

The 300m is really small, like the size and weight of an 80 page notebook. Its tiny tiny tiny. Nothing on the computer it self, once you buy the media base that has everything in it that you will use, its much heavier.

Get the 600m

BTW, all that "centrino" has is the Pentium M processor, and the intel wireless card. I think the 600m came with a free wireless router if you got the dell wireless card in it.

(BTW, I just started working at dell part time, the job rocks!)

I am looking at the 8500 or the 8600 to replace my desk top. The 300M is a good deal for what you get and the size. I have been doing the research for 3 Months.

Yo yo

Its the ultra mobile dell one. It is tight and succulent.

The specs also when i first ordered it seemed weird, but the price is mostly for the compactness of the laptop.

Worst come to worse i got 30 days if its not juicy enough to exchange for a regular sized dell one

it's not really that expensive for a centrino. 1.2 ghz centrino roughly translates to a 2.0-2.2ghz p4, from everything i hear.

it's not a bad deal. centrino machines are typically very small. the only complaint i have against them is it seems you can only get a 12" screen for any of them. someone needs to come out with a centrino with a 15" display. but, i guess to an extent that defies the purpose of the centrino machines.

compare it to this machine (quoted). juicy's has a dvd burner, much smaller and lighter, and the celeron is going to be slower. throw in a few bucks for brand name, and it's pretty much on.

Juicy,

Most of these peeps dont understand the succulence of the centrino and the swankness of the small laptop..

Although..i prefer the vaio..i have like 10.5 inches of juicy screen..

I have about the same amount in my pants

Inspiron 300M,1.2GHz has yet to prove itself in the market place as a chip but hey honestly for $1628.00 its not such a bad deal it aint the worse.

I would be worried about XP Home Edition edition though man, better just get yerself a copy of Pro version.
