Had the staff been more courteous I might have overlooked it but no way jose. It ain't happenin'. I've had over 200+ years of family fighting for this country and we do-not-tolerate-this-shit-one-iota. The post office in question is notorious for excessive long lines, undermanned wherein out of 12 booths only 4 are manned at any given time, half of those manning the stations barely speak english and those that do have that " Don't mess with me today sugar cause I had a bad day " attitude. Well lemme tell you, they have no fucking clue about what a bad day is yet. ____ http://www.consumeraffairs.com/deliv...al_service.htm Leslie of Apopka, FL, writes: On 8/20/99, I purchased stamps from the Automatic Postal Center at the Montgomery Road Post Office. I inserted a $10 bill and purchased 3 stamps (a total of 99 cents). My change was not refunded to me ($9.01), instead, I got a credit slip stating that due to technical difficulties, I could not get a refund. On the slip, it stated, "To obtain a refund for $9.01, please give this slip to a postal representative during regular business hours." I went into the lobby and spoke with one of the postal representatives. I was told that I could not get a refund, but they could give me $9.01 worth of stamps. I asked to speak to a supervisor. I spoke with Bob (he did not give his last name). I was also told by him, that I couldn't get a cash refund, that they could only give me credit in stamps. Well, the point is, if I wanted $10.00 worth of stamps, I would have purchased that many. I asked him, if the machine is supposed to give you a cash refund, why would they give me stamps. He said that the machine did not belong to the post office, but to a company called NCR. I asked him if there was a customer number, where I could speak with someone, he told me no. I then asked if a representative from NCR comes to check the machines. He said yes, but the guy would not be able to give me a refund, because he only checks the software to see what the problem is. He also, stated that on this same day, there were a couple of the same incidences with this machine. I asked him, if there was a problem with the machine or if you only give credits in stamps, why wasn't this posted somewhere on or near the machine. He did not know. I was informed that I could fill out a Consumer Service Card and someone would be in contact with me. I filled out the card and went home and found the number for NCR (from toll-free information). I called and spoke to Tamikia, and she stated that the post office needed to call them, not individual consumers. On 8/21/99, I called the US Postmaster and left a voice message regarding this situation. At 1040, I called the US Postal Service and spoke with Sharita, she documented my complaint and gave me a reference number. They would forward the information and someone would be in touch with me. On 8/30/99, I still had not heard from anyone. I called Bob, the supervisor at the Montgomery Road Post Office. He told me that they were still waiting for a reply from headquarters. On 9/16/99, I called the USPS Consumer Affairs and left a message, I am still waiting to speak to someone. I called the United States Postal Service and spoke with Carrie, she stated that no one had even looked at the complaint yet. My complaint is: it has been almost a month and no one has contacted me. I am the one who has been doing all of the follow-up calling. It is not like I asking for a lot of money, it just $9.01 that would have been refunded to me if the machine was working. I know that there are procedures to go through, but this is ridiculous. All I want is my $9.01 refunded to me and I am never using the automated machines again. The problem is, that money was my gas money. What if someone had only a $20.00 bill and they only wanted a few stamps, the rest of the money is for gas or lunch. Because of the machine, they don't get their money back, but they get refunded in stamps. Stamps don't fill the gas tank and they surely don't feed you. I would greatly appreciate some insight on what else I can do to resolve this matter. Your tax dollars at work. This is the kind of bone-headed, process-oriented foolishness that bureaucrats waste their lives on. |

Call your local postal inspector office
http://www.usps.com/ncsc/locators/find-is.html When you call ask for "USPS Consumer Affairs Division for your area" Call them they are like the Internal Affairs Division of USPS. They will take care if it |

See, there's 'official' procedure and 'non-official procedure'. What's happened here is a complaint wherein millions may have been lost/altered/laundered due to oversights. That cannot be tolerated. How in the world do you have a busted machine that takes people's money, you complain and you don't move your ass to put an 'out of order' sign on it?? Dude, it's negligence, indifference, compliance. They have no excuse. Maybe they coulda used " Oh we've been busy because of 911 " but this scam has gone on YEARS before a 911. I've been a professional newshound farrrrrr too long with far too a success record not to be able to smell a story when one crosses my path. |
