:mad It's not looking good for matrix

A few years ago I had an idea for a site and was told to check out matrix content because there style of content was in line with the type of site I was looking to create. I signed up with them and for a company name I used a name that I thought I liked and would go with when I got settled and up and running.

I lost interest in the idea and forgot all about until today. Guess what, today I get my packet with that company name right under my actual name. That company does not exist.. It was only used to fill in a blank with Matrix.. Their database is at least one source of where Acacia is getting names from without a doubt.

Matrix if you claim that this information was taken illegally and without your consent you need to get your attorney's to file motions for them to release where they got there information from. You need to get affidavits and have them sent to myself and the others here who know for sure it's your DB.

That is if you didn't have anything to do with it getting sent to them which I half suspect you did.

When the case actually ends up in front of a judge wont this all go to discovery?

That is when we will finally see where Acacia has been getting their information

Matrix, the guy in the first post seems to be offering to sign an affidavit. There are others here as well.

You have enough proof to file a lawsuit and ask for an order forcing Acacia to stop using the list and stop contacting your customers.

You have enough proof.

Will you act?

If Norm won't accept the reality here that his database has been used, either knowingly or unknowling there is something not right with that.

The fact that we're not being promptly informed of what actions Matrix is taking in regards to this makes the situation even more murky.

If Matrix doesn't take action soon, they are setting themselves up for civil suits from webmasters at this rate, since California law provides us with that legal protection.

The further this continues without bold action the harder it is to believe it happened unknowingly.

I suspect that there is a link with this and the Acacia package I got too. More angry with myself than anything for giving my details in the first place. A lesson learned that will not be repeated.

I have been sitting back on this subject because I realize how people can get into a frenzy and jump on the point-fingers-bandwagon... but I have spoken with too many webmasters who say that based on the way the letter was addressed, that it is clear in their mind it was Matrix.

Where there is smoke, there is fire.

The smoke is the use of Matrix database.. the fire is the persons involved...... Norm may just be the escape-goat, someone who is "falling down on his sword"....

From my observations of situations where people are manipulating things behind the scenes.... don't be quick to judge what is put out before you as the cuplrit, it could just be another part of the smoke-screen.

FightThisPatent, if matrix gave out our information, which i would hate a lot, they should be honest. there are too many typos and things unique to the matrix database for norman to shake off.

they may not be the main bad guy - i realize acacia is - but some people who felt they had no choice to sign did so without giving up their customers.

if matrix didn't give us up, they didn't make a public announcement that they have turned the matter out to law enforcement to find out how that info got out while getting a court date against acacia against using stolen information. that being the case, whether it's a smoke screen are not, there are issues besides acacia - like honesty, communication and the way people do business.

one way or another, we were violated and matrix is not taking care of us. they're trying to put blame on registrars who don't have the same info as we're receiving on the letters. considering they could easily have let us browse their content without taking our personal info, the people who registered with matrix deserve much much better.

I got a packet from acacia, I've never done any business with matrix.
I think Acacia may be using matrix's list, but i think they have other sources too...

Hey bro you know as well as I do that they know and they are knowingly handing it all over and lying about it. We've seen people who just register names in the last week or so receive mailers to those who did it a couple years ago. If someone was handing over a database they stole they wouldn't be able to keep getting up to date information unless Matrix was allowing access to it still. They're fucking everyone and lying about it.

People do stupid things when they are in a spot. I know I sense that is what probably happened here. But since none of us can know for 100% sure how it was obtained we shouldn't convict until all the details and evidence are displayed.

I think for most people, they've never had a problem with Matrix until this event, so overall I still have to give some consideration to that fact. And sometimes, like I've said in other posts, you have to judge the amount of fucking you've gotten from a company. If you get fucked by someone when they are in challenging circumstances, and you've done satisfactory business with them before over the years, everything has to be weighed into your final decision whether or not to ever do biz again with them. I don't believe in hanging someone because of a single fuckup. We're all guilty of that.

I would be more concerned with the next step with Acacia and not so much how you got collared and hence received a packet.

Matrix has enough people who I'm sure are willing to sign an affidavit that says the info came from them. If I were matrix I would be doing that plus more to prove my company had nothing to do with it. Just my

I was with a Company for about a year, they fucked me once which was reason enough to look elsewhere, there are so many other options out there, why put up with it or risk the chance that you will get fucked again, if they did it once the chance of it happening again look good.

Matrix will NOT take this to court as I have a sneaking suspicion that their DB was not stolen, but given freely as part of a settlement deal..

FUCK EM ALL!!! Burn in hell you fuckers..
