Powell says, "terrorists win"

Guess who started retreating today?

Wait a second... the terrorists are in Iraq? I thought that the US invaded Iraq because there were WMD's? Or.... uhmm... because he was a mean guy.... or... uhmm.... cause he was supporting terrorists.

Now they're saying that all the terrorists live in Iraq or something?

If someone invaded my country, and I bombed a bunch of them, does that make me a terrorist or a patriot to my country? I mean, from their point of view.. that's what happened. The US invaded them. So them fighting back... does that make them terrorists now? or just people hiding wmd's? or just people supporting terrorists?

I'm so confused. Would someone just pick a reason for the US to be there and stick with it??

Ahh so what about Afganistan then? It seems pretty conveniently forgotten.

Oops, I forgot, they don't have oil like Iraq. How endearing.

Forgotten? Who are you referring to? The news media or the U.S. government? Since the U.S. is still taking casualties in Afghanistan, then I take it you're talking about the news media whos MAIN criteria is to cause debate, controversy, and horror (just to let you know). Still about the IRAQi oil huh? I'm sure it's worth more than 100+ billion dollars and U.S. lives that we're shelling out over there now.

Actually, it's quite different.... I am not here holding a blank piece of paper telling you that I know that some other website has mustard gas... when everyone else knows that they don't.

I'm not holding up folders of worthless paper using it as a justifiable means to invade another country for no good reason.

Have I seen the papers? no... but others have, and proved that inspection reports were falcified and other papers were wrong and this and that.... course, they were all forgotten about.

You know jack squat about me and my business, where as the entire world gets frequent news broadcasts on what's going on in Iraq... and absolutely none of it is favourable to the US.
So do I have more to go on than you do? Absolutely.

The terrorists have already won this war.

ANyone who says differently is a fool.

They hit the US, hit hard caused thousands of casualties and a country full of fear. One by one they are picking off the finest soldiers on the earth with relative ease too.

The terrorists have also caused a huge financial hardship on all the US citizens as well as the US as an entity.

Our country is not in great shape.

We have taken many blows, have empty pockets and are bleeding from the nose, eyes and mouth.

No boxer would consider this a victory.

They in fact HAVE won.

Well it looks to me like the US will be stuck in Iraq for a very long time and many $$$ will be spent thanks to an incompetent president. He also got a few more countries to invade IF he's reelected, but who will vote for this religious nut? The American people will kick his ass goodbye.

You'd think "terrorists" were some new phenomina - the labelling makes it easy to identify "them".

It takes very little looking back into history to see that it is not easy to defeat "terrorists" and I doubt many "terrorists" will consider it a "win" - they will be there for decades until there is some "communication". Then, hell, they end up sitting at tables "negotiating".

"stuck there"?? Do you think there's anywhere else in the world that Bush would rather have the US? He's divying up the country to US corporations to make real sure that the US never leaves Iraq.

Yes, in his latest book, Wesley Clark said that the Bush administration had a 5 year plan to invade 7 countries (Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Sudan, Somalia and Iran). Sure he wants US corporations and all the Iraqi consumer market but he sure doesn't want to spend billions on hundreds of thousands of soldiers who get attacked daily that's why he's asking the UN for help. He just want to invade, take control for a while, give huge contracts to his friends and leave for another crusade.

No, I used to think that he was doing it solely for oil, big corporations, etc. but now I'm afraid the guy is a nutjob driven by his twisted mind.

afganistan wasnt something that the government could handle and they realized that the second they got into the country, so they said, well lets take out someone that we know we can handle.. aka iraq.
now im a repub, so to have me say this is treason lol, but bush needs wars to keep his popularity level up. hes a moron, and he isnt handling anything else, so the mentality is go blow up the bad guys and then people will like you.

The terrorists are in places like Afghanistan and Palestine, not Iraq. The American people have such twisted views about what's going on in the world. Sure it's good to see Saddam Heussein out of power but there's something fundamentally wrong about letting the people believe that he had something to do with terrorism or 9/11.

Sure I know it was all about money for Bush and his cronies, but at least they've gone from a terrible dictatorship to a dictatorship that'll rape them for labor instead of killing them off. If they decide to overthrow the US power there once everything's settled good for them. All anyone can do is keep taking steps in the right direction.

The terrorists are in places like Afghanistan and Palestine, not Iraq. The American people have such twisted views about what's going on in the world. Sure it's good to see Saddam Heussein out of power but there's something fundamentally wrong about letting the people believe that he had something to do with terrorism or 9/11.
what's fundamentally wrong is your insistance that Iraq had nothing to do with terrorism.
Once you state that, the rest of your statements become irrelevant.

wow... I am impressed. I must say, I think this is the first I've seen an American ante up and admit to being against their wing of preference for once. I mean, I know lots go against their gov'ts decisions, but not many admit it.

Perhaps there really is hope yet!!

Unfortunately they are virtually one and the same. I hate to say it because I am a very conservative man. But just as they claim that the terrorists have hijacked a peaceful religion, so too have these guys hijacked conservative thought.

What can you expect from a 2-party system? Each and every special interest group grabs ahold of either party and therefore they are both crap. Utter crap. We need about 5 prominent political parties so as to spread those special interest groups out a bit.

He supported them with cash, he bragged about it.

Find the interview that dan rather had with him and listen to it.

stupid liberal.
The facts are far different than the leftist version you "remember"

He was told that a plane had hit the first tower. At this point it was not known if it was terror or accident. his day would not be changed because of an accident.
When the second plane hit, he understood it was an attack and promptly left.

I'll say it again, the lies and mental delusions of the left will bury it for the next 50 years.

The US are there because Bush senior didn't wipe them out, so now his son is President, he will try to finish the job off - Simple as that -

Yet everytime he's asked about what he was doing on 9/11 when he heard it he gives a different story. Alzheimer anyone?
