Question.

Since you took the time to post your actions of what you were going to do to this spamer here on gfy. Had you already fired off an email complaint to clickcash? If so have you contacted them and let them know of your mistake since they do TOS shit even at a hint of spaming?

Not sure since you said clickcash, when it was candidclicks, and you also misspelled clickcash as clickscash in the topic.

I personaly do not care if you report spamers or not. It does not effect me in the slightest, I just hate when people make false accusations. A person can always ignore or delete spam, but a false accusation is a little harder to deal with. So please do tell.

If I had, which wasn't the case, of course I would have emailed them back

LOL @ this thread.

spam will never stop. i think its extrememly hilarious that you think by emailing the affiliate program's owner and showing him/her that, that it will stop. either the spammer was hired by the owner, or that's the owner doing the spamming. fact is spamming brings in serious amounts of signups, more so than any other method of generating traffic that ive ever come across.

hehe, I was confused, why did she try to hide her nickname if it's visible anyway...:thumbsup

If you use actual AIM instead of AOL, you won't get spammed. I have AOL but my AIM never gets spammed. All you have to do is not accept Internet messages on AOL. Are you one of the AOLers that will send 8000000 complaints to AOL instead of just blocking internet users on your buddy list?? :1orglaugh

I agree, if you are getting spammed on AOL, you're probably hanging out in a chat room because I just checked your profile and it's blank. AIM2AOL spam has been around for years and years Sp#mcop Jr. Good luck on your crusade against it.

PS. That's what you get for accepting all messages from names like "Blonde 19 Chick" :1orglaugh

If i got a spam for flinstones naked, i think after i finished laughing & coughing pepsi all over my keyboard, i'd just close the IM & remove my aol instant messanger profile (which is how they are finding your aim name in the first place).

Come on, i mean who doesn't wanna see wilma & betty getting DP'd?

404 10-29-2003 06:29 PM

spammers should be put down at birth. is that being too harsh?

Digipimp 10-29-2003 06:36 PM

It makes me all hot when Furious Female gets rough and tough!

Anyway I would like to say I get hit with more drive by spams on my ICQ for fucking webmaster radio shows and content deals than I do AIM spammers and I have AIM running 24/7 and don't have internet messages disabled even.

I get hammered by CandidClicks via AIM to AOL IM spam all the time. I've reported this to CandidClicks before too, and that particular affiliate ID kept on spamming me. So they must encourage it.

Blocking AIM users isn't an option either b/c I talk to people who use AIM.

You can't go into AOL chatrooms without being hit by the AIM spammers several times per minute. This is the sort of thing that helps give the adult internet a terrible name.

AOL needs to start filing suits against these affiliate companies for AIM to AOL spam. I'd actually like to see affiliate programs be held accountable for their affiliates actions.

SponsorsList, being a real sponsor site that knows sponsors.... would never make a mistake like that...

as for a sponsor having an affiliate that's spamming.... perhaps it would be best to go to that sponsor and tell them. It might save yourself the emberrassment of a GFY thread turned ugly ;)

brand0n 10-29-2003 07:23 PM

lol thats one of my links:Graucho

Digipimp 10-29-2003 07:24 PM

The sponsors making the most money are the ones allowing their affiliates to spam without directly saying they allow it and most of them allow it if you can make them some cash.

partytime 10-29-2003 07:29 PM

Honey, I'm with you.

Give me a call. :Graucho

I consider it a horrible day if I get 3 signups by noon :thumbsup That's only from my aim spam refs, I don't count the legit stuff in there.
