One such person, just because I disagreed with how a company was handling it's affiliates started to accuse me of defaming that company and promised to ruin my business.

If you seriously can't handle an opposing view without going off the deep end and trying to ruin that person you've got some serious issues that self-confidence just can't help.

Indeed. One thing that has remained constant in the 5 years I have been interacting with adult webmasters is ego. A funny thing happens to some people once their site's traffic rises from 2-3k per day up over 20-30k per day and beyond..... they start thinking that because they have a busier site than someone else that maybe their shit dinna stink. I would agree with you if you had a business that relied on webmasters such as a designer , content provider or an affiliate program that made the majority of their $$ off others.

Some people like quiet don't have affiliate programs and others like myself do not rely on the affiliate programs and use it as extra income.

As to traffic trades, you forget to mention search engine traffic which is excellent and other options like your own mailing list.

As to being a dick, I take in to consideration at this board,

1. is the person really being a dick or
2. just defending themselves from the lying crap that is said.
