It was $5000 or 6000 when I was 16, I liked to call Psychic friends!

Now my bill is like $900 every month for all 13 lines I have.

$136,000

Edit: Just so nobody cries foul, I used to run a national ISP with thousands of phone lines, they tend to run a few bucks.

I read about this English soldier in the gulf war.. he had a video mms phone and spoke to his girlfriend on it every day for 3 hours over 6 months!! From Iraq to England!!!

It was reported he was devastated as he expected the bill to be around 100 bucks and it turned out to be about 20k

The rates are so damn low now its pretty hard to run up a big bill. But in the old days if you did a lot of international business calls you could easily go into 4 figures a month.

In my 20's, when rates used to be be outrageous, and you could only dial long distance through a handful of companies, I was VP Sales for a telemarketing company with 200 marketers online at any time of the day calling nationwide. Our phone bill averaged about $200,000 a month. We generated about $3 Mil a month in sales so it was about 7% of our revenues.

was in my "early" internet days. I just discovered
it and everything was new

I use to visit a freenet site in amsterdam called
"de digitale stad" "The Digital City" the freenet
stuff is over now they are now a regular ISP

My ex and I broke up (she dropped my ass). So, I was calling instate Louisiana from Shreveport to New Orleans for about 4 hours/day on several calling cards! This was back in like '94 . MCI, AT&T, and Sprint OWNED MY ARS!!

$800 cell phone bill last january when I was at Internext. My plan did not allow me calls in the US and every message and call I made cost me an arm and a leg.

Also my phone bill with the casino was over $800 because I was dialing up to Canada to login! LOL!

Dumb dumb dumb!!!! I know!

I now have a North American Calling plan and dial up access.

My cellphone usage a month is roughly about 1-1.5k a month.
I am a heavy user and I use roughly about 2-4 nokia batteries a day. I call international a lot and also local clients and also to our office in romania and elsewhere.

I definitely would die if I lost my cellphone for sure.
